Introduction
Over the past several years social networking has basically gone viral and there are many social networking sites available to the public including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn. Facebook has been threatened by both MySpace and LinkedIn in pas years and has been able to remain on top but now Twitter is gaining momentum and threatens to become the number one social networking site over Facebook.
Synopsis of the Situation
Facebook and Twitter are two social networks that appear to have similar websites. In spite of the networking monopoly that Facebook seems to have become it is still being threatened by twitter in because of their social networking strategies. This case study shows strong similarities of the two.
Key Issues
The key issues in the case are the advantages that Twitter has over Facebook in reference to the level of technology. One of the main issues is when Facebook tried to buy out Twitter they refused. It seems as though they did not want to merge and felt that they would be more successful on their own.
Define the Problem
The major problem that exists in this case, is the fact that Twitter has a controlled level of social networking. Facebook does not allow one way interaction options meaning that if I want to follow someone’s posts then they themselves would have to accept my friend request, and Facebook also does not allow someone to track real time information. With this happening that may mean that many Facebook members may leave and start using twitter because of some of the restrictions that are placed on the members of Facebook.
Alternative Solutions
The solution that I see is that twitter bought the technology from stellar

There are three different social media networks that I have used ,still use, and one that I have not used myself. MySpace is one of the ones that really got social media networking to where it is now. I used to use MySpace to talk to friends, share pictures, listen to music, and share my blogs. These were the main functions that I used MySpace for. MySpace was one of the first big steps that lead other social media networking where it is. Being able to interact with your friends and family in a virtual world is a big success to being able to so be many places at once. Facebook is another social media networking tool that took the world by surprise and has also took over MySpace users. With Facebook you are able to share photos, express what is on your mind with your friends and family, write messages between you and others, and stay connected with people all over the world. Facebook came and conquered most of, if not all, social media networking web sites. The main thing that separated Facebook from any other social media web site is that it was made for college students. Little by little it became so popular that everyone wanted to be a part of this network. Businesses really took advantage of the social networking site for advertising. With so many advertising competitors on the network, it is hard for users not to take advantage of the products advertised. Businesses even have commercials that tell to “like” them on Facebook to ensure the attention of the social media users. The latest installment to the social media networking web sites that I have not used is Twitter. Twitter is different in its own way for various reasons. Twitter allows people to, share their posts or “tweets” with all of their friends at once or certain people that want to see your posts. Everything that you can do in the other two social networking sites is done completely different in the Twitter world. When you add friends they are either…

Twitter and Facebook are only two of the online connections people use today to stay in contact with friends and family. The internet is a place to interact with new people and a way to be exposed to strangers. The partial anonymity available online can be used as a mask for sexual offenders and psychos; they can appear to be ordinary normal people, and you have no way of really knowing what is the truth and what is a lie. Too much personal information is at risk on these social networking sites. You can 't really build a relationship with an online friend because on the internet…

Everything has its history, including Facebook and Twitter. First, I will start with the history of Facebook. The man who owns the idea and created Facebook by himself is Mark Zuckerberg. He started the service while he was at Harvard University as a second year student. At that time he broke up with his girlfriend and he tried everything to forget his bad memory. He first launched a site while studying at Harvard called “Facemash” in 2003. Facemash was a site for voting on student photos. After that, he improved his site to be better and changed the name Facemash to “TheFacebook” in 2004. Mark and his friends expanded their site to well-known universities in the USA, and then all around the world. In 2005, the word “The” was removed, and Mark together with his friends registered the domain name of Facebook.com with $200,000 and this is the way Facebook has existed until present.…

Arguably the biggest problem with Social Media is Cyberbullying. This is not your average school bullying in the sense it can be controlled by people, on social networking sites bullies don’t get told off by anyone or restricted by anyone and can continue as they see fit. Another difficulty with online bullying is that the attacker can hide behind their computer and are shadowed by this. A lot of people would not have the courage to say things in person to one another but on Facebook people seem to be more outgoing and some completely have a change of personality and become a lot more confident.…
