When done done you rub the whole car down with a charcoal pad so you can see all of his texture. When you see all the texture you will sand the car down to where it's smooth. You will have to double check to see if you missed any spots on the vehicle you're restoring , if you did keep sanding until the car is smooth and looks a little cloudy. After you're done you will have to start preparing to paint your dream car. “Most people will use an automotive spray gun to apply the primer and you will need to have a safety mask on when painting. Do not pour the primer directly into the spray gun cup but first place a strainer in and then pour in the primer. This strainer will get rid of any clumps or dirt that could ruin the spray gun. You may not need to use a spray gun though this ensures an even coat which is important when applying primer.”. After applying two coats of primer you will let it sit an hour to two hours to set and then come back and spray another one or two coats. “it will usually take two or three coats to cover the surface completely. The first step to a great looking paint job that will last is having a solid, rust-free foundation to work from. Rust is a common term for the process of steel oxidizing and is normally caused by unprotected metal being exposed to water. Adding salt to the process, as in the salty roads we have in the winter only rushes the process and can quickly turn your car into an ugly, flaking, rusty mess. The worst issue of rust is that once the oxidation process has started it's very hard to stop. Even taking away the source of the moisture won't stop the metal from rusting in a self-destructive manner, so the only choices are to remove the rust completely or to stop the process of oxidation chemically. Either way, the rust must be completely removed or treated or it will return under the paint, causing unsightly bubbling. If removing the rust by hand, this can be accomplished by removing the metal just in the rusty area and welding in patches, but extreme cases may require replacing the entire part. Most areas of light surface rust don't require part replacement and can be chemically treated with a liquid rust inhibitor. No matter the brand, all rust inhibitors work basically the same way. Their main ingredient is phosphoric acid, which converts rust into iron phosphate, chemically stopping the oxidation process. Parts can be dipped in rust inhibitor, but the more…

The Paintless Dent Repair idea being able to damage has been in our industry since the beginning. The twist, of course, is that there's no grinding of filling allowed. Many say this idea came to the United States 50 years ago; some say 20 years ago. But it wasn't until the early to mid-80's that the craze started hitting the product show routes. Most of us watched with the disbelief and then amazement as trainers demonstrated the techniques and equipment of the trade. But few of us took them seriously because, "Why worry, several of us have plenty to do."…
