* Limit the use of “to be” verbs (avoid using them if possible). * Avoid opinions unless prompt specifically asks. * Avoid using unnecessary words such as: a lot, more, very, kind of, really, totally, just, lots, like * Do not repeat yourself (even if it is in different wording). * When proofreading a paragraph, ask yourself if it has a point to it (Look for a topic sentence).
