Explain Why Notice When Safety Is At Risk
Notice when Safety is at Risk
During the course of the crucial conversation, the whole exercise can turn to be violent because of the high emotions that it brings. This makes the conversation very risky, especially when the people who are involved in the conversations are short tempered. In addition to this, it can also turn to be silent due to the shocking news that I might end telling them. Because my father is short tempered, I understand that he will react violently, and this would render the conversation very risky. For this reason, the trick to overcoming this is minimizing the time during which the conversation is conducted, so that by the time the tempers have grown to become violent, everybody has dispersed his own way and therefore nobody is there to fight. Similarly, during the conversation, silence would play a great role in cooling down the tempers of my dad. By remaining silent and not arguing with him, he will not have any reason to be triggered to react.

What is on the mind and the desires of my heart are very important to me and also to my family and therefore by not telling them, it would be a slow suicide to the family and to me. Therefore, a strong connection between my parents and me is crucial for an effective conversation that would deliver the message precisely. In college, many distractions come on the way as you move from one level to another. I am hopeful that my father would understand this better because he was once there and he also experienced the same effect. For this reason, I must motivate myself and ensure that I deliver the message to them

Have you ever thought of walking out or you house and getting attacked by soldiers, or going to the local grocery store and have bacteria in the food, or not being able to get the health care you needed? Our safety is also something people take for granted every day. One of my dear friends went to Haiti, and she said every time she went out they would have to stay with their groups and they could NOT go out by themselves. Here in America children can run in their neighborhood and not have to worry about getting shot, murdered, beaten, or etc.…

My family are the people that I choose to be around the most and adjusting to life without them all the time will be tough for me. For example, my mom still sets up my doctor appointments, does my laundry and embarrassingly, sometimes speaks up for me as well . However I think that finally not having her do these things will benefit me as I learn to be more independent. To overcome this challenge I plan to meet responsible people who will be alongside me throughout my college and career journey. Another challenge I will face is overcoming my shyness. I know that to be successful in college I will have to engage in order to be successful. For that reason I plan to join different clubs and perhaps take classes that will help me open up with…

A good portion of college students bring their parents to school with them every single day. “Taking my parents to college” by Jennine Capo Crucet, is an article that talks about her experience as a first time college student and what she soon realizes about how often her parents were actually with her throughout the experience. There are many different ways that students bring their parents to college with them. A few ways that I bring my parents to college with me is by bringing their beliefs, values, and advice with me, as well as taking them with me by using social media websites. Discussing conflict management in class has helped me learn how to create safety and make the situation better, and not worse. It has helped me make fights with my parents shorter, less intense, and calmer. I’ve learned to control my anger in stressful situations like these. I’ve also learned to not act out my emotions, but to simply state your opinions, and accept responsibilities. Creating emotional safety can mean so much in a crucial conversation, it can save your relationships. To create emotional safety you have to make sure they feel comforted in the situation, and let them know your intentions (“im just telling you that i’m not trying to hurt you.”).…

So, what college are you going to? At times, this seems to be the only question family members know how to ask. As the precocious child that I was, my family loved to hear my response at as young as four years old. At that time I would just ramble off a university that I had previously heard, everyone would get a kick out of it, and then we would move onto whatever we were previously doing. As I've gotten older, the weight of that question has become heavier. At times, it seems as if everyone around me already knows which school they are going to. I have always known that I wanted to do something with medicine, but it was still a challenge because I felt like at seventeen years old, the world was asking me “what do you want to do with your life?”…
