Analyse the ways in which you would establish ground rules with your learners, and which underpin behaviour and respect for others.

In this assignment I will define what ground rules are and why we set ground rules during the process of teaching/training learners. I will seek to analyse the different ways I would establish ground rules with learners and how these ground rules will help ensure inclusivity, effective group working and participation and promote mutual respect and understanding between learners and myself as the trainer.

Firstly, it is important that as the trainer I establish ground rules relating to health and safety and general housekeeping and ground rules relating to the codes of practise and culture of my organisation and venue where the training is taking place. I will be involved in providing non formal and informal learning opportunities to the voluntary and community organisations and delivering training within the European Lifelong Learning programme. I will establish some of my own preferences as a trainer and my ground rules will state what I expect from learners for example location of toilets and fire evacuation procedure, timekeeping, the importance of signing the register in order to keep records of learners for funders requirements, the correct process by which to inform the trainer of non attendance due to sickness or holiday, the use of mobile phones, confidentiality. These ground rules will not be negotiable and I will say these ground rules during the first session especially if it is a new group of
