Goal # 1: To establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment Safety at Precious Moments Daycare is our utmost priority as well as a very important daily task. A child’s growth is essentially influenced by a safe and healthy environment this is why it is very important to follow our licensing regulations. We arrive fifteen minutes before the 1st child arrives to ensure we go over our daily safety checklist, this includes making sure electrical outlets are covered and cords are our to children’s reach, smoke/fire alarm are in working order, all means of egress; are not being blocked. I believe that caregivers with a solid background in childhood development, effective communication skills, and the ability to create developmentally appropriate learning experiences are much more beneficial to a young child’s education than someone without one or all of these qualities. It is important to keep up on trainings, this also helps us caregivers keep up-to-date with new and improved ways to care for our children. In our daycare we practice monthly fire drills as well as shelter in place twice a year. Children that attend our daycare are given a balanced meal with the right portion for their age group. We participate with the CACFP program that teaches us and helps us provide good nutrition. Children enjoy meals at our daycare because we make it healthy but, also fun and with a diverse menu. I incorporate different foods from various areas of the world, we have served Latin, Italian, Chinese, American, German meals. Children never get bored of the food they eat at my daycare, at times they ask for a plate to take home. Parents are aware that if the snacks they might bring for their children, must be
