he policies and procedures put in place at school help children to feel safe. For example, a behaviour policy that highlights the code of conduct expected from all children reassures the child that the school have consequences in place if a child is being unsafe. This may include if a child is being unsafe with equipment in class that child will get a negative consequence. Similarly, if a child gets bullied theyâ€TMll know something will be done about it as the school bullying policy highlights the procedure that teachers will have to follow if an incident takes place, it doesnâ€TMt get overlooked. Policies such as all adults on site that are not a part of school staff are registered, also help. As whoever is in school from the outside the school is always aware of, which provides a sense of security for children and parents. Furthermore, there are policies in place that are guidelines for children on what is safe for them to do or use. It teaches children that they are expected to respect their environment and those in it at all times. These boundaries provide limitations on what behaviour children can choose to display, for example if you carrying on being disruptive in class you will miss your playtime. However, these limitations need to be applied consistently in order to be effective as sometimes they are not.
