If you where to fill a swimming pool that fits 60,000 liters of water with desalination water it would create 180 kilograms of carbon dioxide.

Environment

How dose desalination effect its surrounding environment?

Desalination effects the environment by, when desalination goes through the process of removing salt from the water the left over salt and other dissolved solids called brine gets piped back into the water which makes the water overly salty with is a problem for the marine life. The marine life such as plants and animals.The brine is such a problem because some animals need a certain amount of salt to survive, but if there is too much salt then the animals will not live.

Desalination dose not help global worming because desalination creates 3 kilograms of carbon dioxide per ever 1000 liters of fresh water made. Carbon dioxide is one of the green house gasses. Green house gasses have a direct influence on the environment. Causing extreme weather changes also known as global worming.
