“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Do not resist them that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like”- Lao Tzu. Change can come in unexpected moments of your life, occasionally these changes cause fear, but do not let the changes frighten you, Often they are an opportunity to live remarkable experiences and to turn your life around.
When it came to change I was a novice at it. To begin with, I lived a normal and average life in Venezuela. I was born in a metropolitan city called Maracaibo, the second most active and developed city in Venezuela. The city of Maracaibo is warm and colorful, made out of historical and also modern buildings. Since I was three years old I went to the same school with the same 36 people that were in my class. Over the years, I got to know all my classmates

Not only did people speak a different language, but I was moving into smaller city, with a different climate, culture, and environment; everything was new and unknown. The first few weeks were exciting, scary, and sad. Furthermore, I moved into a new home which was amusing because I had only lived in an apartment before that. The new school I attended had a totally different system than my old school; students did not stay in one classroom but they switched classes between hours. In truth I found myself not only lost physically, but also emotionally. Moreover, I did not have any friends, and I was worried that my language background was not good enough for me to progress with the rest of the students and as a consequence my grades would drop. Therefore, I felt overwhelmed, all those changes were happening so quick that I started to miss my old life, remembering all the delightful times I had with my family and friends during my life in Venezuela and now I was 2,324 miles away from my

Throughout my life I have encountered many circumstances that have shaped me into the person I am today. I was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I attended school in Mexico all the way to second grade. In the summer of 2006 I moved to Cumming, Georgia. It was the hardest thing to do because I left everything that I care the most about. We lived in a trailer which was not the nicest place and in the middle of the forest. I started school at the beginning of August. I had always loved school so I was so excited for the first day. I knew it was going to be hard because I would have to conquer so many obstacles on the way. At this time the only English I knew was probably counting from one to ten and some of the colors. My Father knew some…

Throughout time, people have had to go through change. Whether it had been moving to a new city or starting a new job, people all around the world have to deal with it. Every person that has endured change has had their own way to handle it. Some people complain and fail to comply with the fact that change will happen and others strive to be a part of the future to come. Dr. Spencer Johnson took note of this when he wrote “Who Moved My Cheese.” This simple story demonstrated the ways that many people deal with change. Using evidence from the story, I have to come to the conclusion that the best way to deal with change is the same way the Sniff and Scurry did, immediately adapt when change comes.…

Change. From the first breath inhaled to the last, we change hundreds, thousands, of millions of times throughout the entirety. These changes may not always be so obvious, whereas others are blaringly distinct. Change is inevitable, especially as the environment, technology, economy, and people develop. Us, human beings, we are flexible, able to adapt and survive. The last day of school came quickly and I had to say goodbye to everybody. This was pretty sad for me because of how long I knew everybody at school(I’ve spent at least a thousand hours at school) and this made me be bonded to a few people at school. The whole experience was sad but it wasn't nearly the hardest part of the transition of countries. The last weeks Me and my family went to chicago for one last time. It was around this time that I started to get anxious about my move to Poland. I would sit in my room and think to myself What if I don’t like Poland? What if I can’t learn the language there? What if the school there isn't nice? What if it will be a bad place to live? Looking back on it I think that the reason that I had much more anxiety moving to Poland then I did when Moving to Chicago was partly caused by the fact that I had grown up a bit in the two years that we were in Park…

Everything was great until I went to school for the very first time. I remember feeling scared and out of place. Everyone around me spoke a language that I did not understand. It was not until a few days of going to school that a teacher finally spoke to me in Spanish and explained that everyone was speaking English. I knew the language as “lengua de el gringo,” which translates to “tongue of the gringo”.…
