Examples Of Observation In Social Work
As Social Workers we need to observe the toddler according to the norms of the Daycare and how the toddler conducts himself in the lobby of his Daycare. The healthier the relationship a child has, the more likely the child will be to recover from trauma and thrive. Relationships are the agents of change and the most powerful therapy is human love (Perry & Szalavitz, 2006).The toddler in question is considered to be a part of what society considers as Hispanic lower class. The specific family member that is being critiqued is the son. The other family members that live in the same household are the mother, step-father, daughter, and son. We will discuss the toddler in the contexts of the Daycare and the theories we has discussed through-out the graduate curriculum.
Observation
“Upon my initial observation concerning Family Life Style, I presumed that this family is lower-class. The mother is working and is able to afford daycare for her son while she goes to work and while the step-father finishes up the final touches of his book so that he could get it published. The daughter is succeeding in her curriculum as a student in her school and does not allow the temptations of her peers to cause her to experience any low self-esteem. Strengths, narrative and solution perspectives share a positive forward-looking practice approach based on amplifying the strengths in clients lives (Payne 2014). The toddler goes to daycare 5 days out of the week while his parents strive in their endeavors to provide a better life for him and his sister. While at daycare the toddler learns basic mathematic skills, reading, receives 60% of the required nutrition for the day, and be motivated to use the bathroom
