The Book Thief Essay: life lessons life lessons are important for everyone, we see them everywhere. Most books give us life lessons more than one most of the time. In The Book Thief we learn about morality, love, war, identity, and suffering. All of these are great life lessons to know. Within this essay I will explain to you how liesel and all her friends and family went through all their hardships and how they overcame/moved on from them. Death who is the narrator keeps us focussed on mortality.Death lets us know from the very beginning that this is a tragic story. A funny example of love in the story would be liesel and rudy. Rudy the little lover boy is always trying to impress liesel, she acts like she not though. all this “romance” between these two leads up to a really sad ending, but like death said before this isn't a happy book. what we should take away from this though is that it's ok to love and be loved, so many people loved Liesel and she loved them back.
The book is filled with war as it is set during the second world war in the Nazi Germany.Though Death doesn't like war and also its results which will keep him busy all the time with no time to relax. In the book death mentions war as a new boss who’s basically a jerk and always has you working. Death feels sorry for the young people who died in the war but felt worse for the jews in the concentration camps.
Identity is a major concern in the novel especially for the Jewish. Any wrong move will not cause damage to you but your family as well. Even the Non-Jewish characters do not want to be called as Nazis and try to forge new identities. Even in today's life people hide who they are just to fit in or keep their families safe. This is not the way people should live though you should be able to express yourself and be a free
