Discrimination Around the World Around the world, people face discrimination regarding religion and race whether they are natural born citizens or immigrants; whether they are rich or poor. Discrimination is a major problem everyone faces at some point in their lives. In 1939, Jewish people faced many problems with discrimination based on how they looked and what they believed in, which led to the massacre of the Jewish people. Today, people face discrimination with religion, race, as well as immigration. Discrimination can even be found in current events across the globe. Current events such as the Black Lives Matter movement, Syrian and Iraqi immigrants, Central American immigrants, and the school system are all examples of today’s discrimination; like the Jewish people were discriminated for their religion and appearance so many years ago.
