Examples Of Academic Autobiography
My Academic Autobiography
This is my first semester in college. In my academic autobiography I will be writing about four major details. These details include: my grades in school, my abilities and weaknesses, the challenges I face, and how I deal with these challenges. I will also talk about my academic future and what my goals are for it. My first topic in my autobiography is my grades I got in school. My parents always pushed me to do my best, but I didn't always care. I remember in high school I would always tell myself I would try my hardest this year and do everything I need to to pass my classes with good grades. Unfortunately some classes were just so hard for me I would let my grade drop to a D. Once my parents found out about it they were doing anything and everything to make me get the grade up. For example, they

Since this is my first semester as a college student I didn't know what to expect. One of my major challenges is money. In my senior year of high school my counselor was always telling me ways to help me financially with college. But I never really listened because I didn't think it would be that much, but I didn't have any money saved up for it. But towards the end of high school I realized I really needed help with this, so I listened to what she had to tell me. Another challenge is my classes. Its not that my classes are hard there quite easy, including English, it’s just the homework that’s a little challenging. Ways that I deal with the challenges I have which are money, classes or homework. When I finally went to talk to my counselor she talked to me about ways to get money. I got the Fafsa, and I applied to the Cal Grant and some scholarships. Unfortunately I didn't get the Cal Grant or any scholarships, but I did get finical aid which has been really helpful with school. The way I deal with my classes and homework are I do one at a time. I try not to look

For example, the story can simply relate a personal experience, or a humorous anecdote; it can tell about an especially significant academic encounter or about an unusual test of character. This semester has been a little difficult for me; I have faced many challenges and still have more to come. Classes have been hard to adjust to but I have tried my hardest and put my best foot forward. The main two classes that I feel I am struggling in right now are English 1000 and Math 1090. I feel these are my hardest classes because English is a weak subject for me and coming into college English is a big step for me. I have a big problem with my writing and the way I word my papers therefore English is a weakness of mine. Math is another weakness of mine because when I learn new things and I don’t understand them I don’t usually tend to ask for help and in math you learn something new every day. I was very good at math…

I had some challenges in the first semester. I realized that it gets harder every year. I felt like ninth grade was a bit easier than this year. The final for English was easy. There were only two questions. We took a final for the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. My goal is to have good grades, but also pass every class so that I don’t have to retake any. I want to be able to graduate on time. It always gets hard when almost end of the semester. That is the time when teachers start to give out more work. It’s a good idea but the same time bad. It can help bring grades up for some people. Most people are lazy so they rather not do it and fail the semester. My challenge was trying to focus with so many distractions in the way.…

Even though you might talk briefly with some of your peers before, during, and after class you really don't get to know them. Having the opportunity to create an autobiography which will be later shared with a peer in your classroom might be intimidating, but I remember that I am also reading someone's else autobiography and maybe she/he might feel intimidating for sharing a personal story with a total stranger. Deanna told me her autobiography in which I later wrote a biography, in which she later review if there was anything that was missing. We later meet together to discuss about our autobiographies, biographies, and readings. I began thinking that we really do not anything in common. There might be small similarities that we might share,…

Obstacles and hardships are what shape a person. One of my many obstacles I had to face was getting use to my freshman year in high school. Due to me going to an Early college my freshman experience may have been a little different. Transitioning was one of the most difficult parts of the whole experience due to me not being able to really grasp what I had gotten myself into. My teachers were very firm in conducting their teaching strategies. I can recall a moment in time where I had turned in one of my first papers for my English class I was so excited for her to read it because I had worked all night on it trying to perfect it. A couple days passed and I got the paper back it was so many read marks on it if I didn't know any better I would…

I know coming right into college will be challenging for me. One of my challenges that I face is that I have ADHD which means that I lose focus very easily, when I hear noises it takes my focus off my work so its hard to stay on task and even harder to get back on task. Another one of my challenges is that I am a athlete, I play soccer and I also have to train for when I transfer to CNU to run cross country and track for the school. Also I tend to procrastinate, I like to put things off until the last second and that is not a good habit, I know in college if I do that its…

I did not grow up in a single town; I actually grew up in seven different towns, in four different states and two different countries. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio. I grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi; Warner Robins, Georgia; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Ottawa, Ontario; Dayton, Ohio; Adana, Turkey; and Beavercreek, Ohio. In all of the places I have lived, I lived on the Air Force Base, because my mom is in the Air Force, except in my current residence Beavercreek, I live off base. When I lived on Air Force bases, the community I was in was close. There were many times that my brothers and I would be playing on a friend’s lawn or walking over to another neighborhood to visit other friends. Last summer, I spent a lot of my days watching Gossip Girl. The opening credits always ended with Gossip Girl saying, “And who am I? That’s a secret I’ll never tell.” This is how I felt when I began writing my college admission essays. I was still confused about who I was and what I wanted to do after finishing high school, so it was tough writing all those essays. It’s especially frustrating when the prompt is something like “tell us about yourself.” What do they want to know? What can I fit in 650 words or…
