2015). With this generalist diet, the two-toed sloths exhibit an overall greater plasticity in the tree and habitat use allowing the overall resilience within the ecosystem (Mendoza et al. 2015). Due to the diverse diet, the two-toed sloth’s gut supports a more diverse community of microorganisms. (Dill‐McFarland et al., 2015) With the diverse community of microorganisms, there becomes an un-cohesive SCOA profile in the gut of the sloth which allows a diverse uptake of nutrients (Dill‐McFarland et al., 2015). This in turns allows the two-toed sloths to process a variety of foods hence being considered to have a generalist…

Sus scrofa, or the domestic pig is a member of the class Mammalia and the order Artiodactyla. Since we as humans are also a member of class Mammalia, we have a good deal in common biologically with pigs, although we might not like to think so. Since we have a good deal in common, it is very helpful for us to study these animals both anatomically and physiologically. We do this when we test medicines on pigs, perfect surgical procedures on pigs, and even when we used to use pig valves for replacements in human hearts. Thus the pig is a first-rate example of a mammal and the purpose of this lab is to recognize the specific similarities between the pig and ourselves as humans. To accomplish this we will be dissecting and identifying parts in a number of different systems: external features, the skeleton, the muscles, internal organs, the respiratory system, the digestive system, the circulatory system, the urinary system, the reproductive system, and the nervous system.…
The United States has policies that help to protect human rights within the country. The rights of American citizens are protected within the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. To understand the rights of the people the Fourteenth Amendment and other policy must researched to determine how effective they are implementing. policy analysis reflects around the assessment of policies from the government by critiquing the failures and successes. The United States implement several policies to deal with criminal activity and social issues, for instance The United States Human Trafficking Policy and the Trafficking Victims Protection Act policies are not a 100% successful but these policies are steadily improving with sustainable reform. The criminal justice system established with the promise form the United States Constitution for individual’s civil liberties and rights. Analyzing the policies will evaluate the issues that courts and law enforcement deal with while working and implementing prior polices. The effectiveness of these policies will also be determined to see if they worked.…
How accurate are the profiles? This will obviously depend on the expertise of the persons involved in such an assessment. Kocsis, Orwin, & Hayes (2000) reported that profilers appear to have higher skills when compared to other groups. They claim the most accurate groups are, in order of accuracy: professional profilers, psychologists, students, police officers, and self-declared psychics. That psychologists ranked second in the study suggests that psychologists are better at this endeavor than police officers, perhaps because of their understanding of human behavior. The researchers also reported that psychics are the least reliable of the groups. They apparently depend more on the stereotypes of murderers than of a true understanding of the mind and mentality of a killer. The research also suggests that police probably would do better at profiling if they were educated in the principles of the process (Peterson, 1997). Thus profiling, or criminal investigation assessment, is an educated attempt to provide investigative agencies with specific information as to the type of individual who committed a certain crime (Geberth, 1981). Of course, profiles are not suitable in all cases, even in some murder cases (Holmes & Holmes, 1992, 2000). They are usually more efficacious in cases where the unknown perpetrator has displayed indications of…
