Example of Academic Plan
This paper will discuss my academic plan for my pursuit of a Bachelor’s of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering. Although I have been unable to download the calendar plan that was described in class I will outline my class schedule starting the spring semester 2008 until I graduate. As a start I would to explain my unique situation. While I was an active duty Marine I began taking distance education classes. Through the course of my classes through Central Texas Community CollegeI was under the impression I was taking all my required general education requirements. Once I completed my transfer paperwork to KirkwoodI soon found out my classes would count for very little towards my degree. In addition my military experience, some of which is ACE accredited, will also only be accountableas elective courses. In all I have nine (9) credits I can transfer for my humanities and social sciences. The remaining thirty-three (33) will simply be marked as electives and most likely not be used. My goal while at Kirkwood is to complete all the transferable classes towards my BS and then transfer to the University of Iowa. While it may be possible to achieve an Associates of Science with the extra elective credits I have, I will not go out of my way to obtain it before I transfer. Below will be my semester schedule until graduation. The summer semester information is based Kirkwood’s 2007 Summer Catalog. One other note, after a conversation with Mario Meza, I will attempt to retake my Compass placement exam in an attempt to test into Calculus I to speed my transfer. Spring 2008 Summer 2008 Fall 2008 Spring 2009 Summer 2009 Fall 2009 Spring 2010 This marks my transfer to the University of Iowa. I have spoke with the Megan Allen in the transfer office for the College of Engineering. She is aware of my situation. Fall 2010 Spring 2011 Fall 2011 Spring 2012 The entire time I am pursuing my degree I will be a Mechanical Engineer

I made the right choice to attend in Kalamazoo Community College because even that I’m new in college and I still don’t know a lot about what college is about, what benefits I might obtain through my college life or how is college system. Going to college is a very essential step in my life. I’ve always said that education is very important. I have to confess, that KVCC is not my dream college, because it is not a 4 year college. I do want to get my bachelor degree to do so I need to transfer to any university, if my economic resources help me into this process I might attend to Western Michigan University (my college dream). Unfortunately I do not have the Kalamazoo Promise to attend to WMU right away, that’s why I chose KVCC as my 2 year…

The new community college for full-time students will not provide a degree in all areas, “All first-year students would be required to take a predetermined core curriculum and would then be limited to their choice of about 12 majors” (Moltz, 2009). The majors that were proposed will be in pre-career fields, which will be designed to assist students with transferability. The transferability requirements to four-year institutions have increased throughout the years and it is important that the two-year college focuses on making sure that student are academically on track to transfer. At times, community college students do not complete a bachelor’s due to the lack of preparation for what is expected of them once they transfer. The curriculum proposed requires full time enrollment and taking more than 12 units per semester, which will prepare students for a better transition to a four-year…

The purpose of this publication is to document my personal goals that I want to achieve while attending the University of Phoenix. I have been thinking about going back to school for some time now and I finally made the decision to attend this online institution because of a previous personal goal that I had set. The goal that started this whole thing for me was my goal to get a Bachelor Degree. I had previously attended Northwest Technical College of Wadena, MN. I earned a 2-year diploma in Telecommunications Engineering. This diploma is short of an AAS degree by a few General courses. Having this shortage of credits was a shortcoming that I did not want to accept, so I made an executive decision 2 years ago to complete my degree.…

My path at ACC began my fourth semester in college, after moving to Elgin. After talking to my counselor and going over degree plans checking off classes I’ve already taken I decided the classes I would be taking here at ACC would be Speech, history 1302, Texas politics, and English. Luckily all my chosen classes would be here at the Elgin campus; I love the small class sizes and have even chosen to do a few online classes. After this semester I will continue my education path by applying for the university of Texas education program. Although I am an aggie I plan to attend the University of Texas because of its closeness and hope to make a few very special family members proud.…

In the three years of my undergraduate study, I have been exposed to diverse topics ranging from thermal sciences, fluid mechanics to computer aided manufacturing and design. As per the requirements of the institute I was also exposed to the needs and aspirations of the industry through a series of well orchestrated lectures by eminent people who are leaders in their field. These courses have helped me build a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and laid the necessary groundwork for pursuing graduate studies. In my sophomore year I credited Dynamics of Machinery and was intrigued by…

“My interest is in the future because I am going to spend the rest of my life there” -Charles F. Kettering- This time of the year high school seniors are making the biggest decision for their future, what path they will be taking for the next year. Some choose college, others the military, few people chose to take a leap year to take a break from school or travel and see the world. My choice is college. Although I have considered the military I believe that college will be best path for me to take. Looking at many different schools has made it hard for to decide what to do next year but I believe that I have finally come to a decision on where I can see myself for the coming years. I would like to attend ICC for a year and take my general education courses at a cheaper rate, after a year at ICC I would like to transfer to either the University of Tennessee or Illinois State University to study physical therapy.…
