Evidence Based Practice Essay
Evidence based practice generally defined as an ongoing inquiry about the human behavior, culture, family background, and socio-economic context. EBP helps the social workers with scientific approach to solve the problems and to create their own science which can be examined in own lab. With the help of EBP social work mental health practitioner can provide the services to their clients according their preferences, ethics, situational, cultural as well as a profession (Thyer & Myers, 2014, p. 7). Evidence based practice gives social workers different way of thinking about the different and diverse range of social practice which makes social work conceptually and theoretically improved (Gary & McDonald, 2015, p. 17). Mental health social work practitioner need to employ EBP because it enables with science based knowledge which can be tested its validity, to find out the clients socio-cultural context as well as specific problems in mental health. …show more content…
Basically EBP means intervention of solutions or ideas which are proven and tested by empirical research (Gary & McDonald, 2015, p. 10). argue there are three stages which social worker must complete, social worker start with theological stage, and go through the metaphysical stage and have enter into the scientific stage. The last stage will be only reached after the social work passes under the domination of science (Thyer & Myer, 2014, p. 12).
