Everyone Should Serve Research Paper
In some countries every young person has to serve 2 years in the military. Do you support this? I don’t support this because some people have kids, health problems, and they have a risk of dying. I hope you enjoy this.

One reason why I support not everyone should serve is because some people have kids. Parents shouldn’t have to watch their kids go into the military. Also if parents serve who is going to watch their kids. It is so sad. I hope this never comes to the United States.

Another reason is because some people have health problems. If you send a young person with health problems they might die. Some might be born with birth defects. Others might have heart problems or kidney failure. This is one of the worst reasons.

In 1967 when I enlisted in the Marine Corp we did not have the draft, the Marine Corp never used the draft but the Army did. Around, the spring of 1967 the Corp decided it needed the draft to fill all the slots open. So they started to drafting, we then had a lot of men starting to call their congressman about the way they were treated and wanted them to change the Corp. The quality of the Marine Corp started to fall so after a few years of the draft they dropped the draft, then the quality came back I feel that if you want to be in the military then you should enlist. With the job market the way it is today we should have a large group of people waiting to join. I see in the news that people want their men and women back and protesting they don’t want them to go to war, who does. But we take an oath to protect and honor the constitution of the United States of America. When called we will protect our nation no matter what. So why are these people crying about their family members going overseas let’s look at it like this, it’s a job you get paid to do a service for the country. It is an honor to do this, be proud to serve and protect we learn, and we grow when in the military many men and women have become adults fast, even if they didn’t want to they have to. Does this make them a better person I think so, if some turn out bad or misguided they would have been misguided anyway. So is it time to reinstate the draft I say no. Maybe the politicians should, be drafted and serve their country instead of trying to place people where they do not want to be. Give the military men and women more pay and respect them for what they do. When we came home from Vietnam we were spit on and called names, these men and women deserve more, honor them do not humiliate them. I have spoken to my children about going into the military, but they…

Have you ever taken the time to think about how you feel about the draft? Do you feel it is the government’s right to tell you to serve in the military? In times of war there is always the possibility of a draft. Drafting for military purpose has dated back to the Thirteen Colonies and could still be used today. Although it has been in existence for a very long time the draft has been used in 5 major wars: the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War and again for the Vietnam War.…

Often times you see athletes performing dominating blocks, making big hits, or making acrobatic catches. However, athletes have much more to offer off their respective playing surfaces that goes unseen. Here at Henderson State University athletes are supposed to epitomize what a college student in Arkadelphia should be. We’re depended upon to be campus leaders to our peers and set examples verbally as well as through our actions. Sometimes we’re seen as intimidating individuals do to our outer appearance but we’re empathetic to others just as others. Our athletic program is set on allowing our athletes to give back to our community and school through participation in various events that occur throughout the calendar year. By providing opportunities for student-athletes to serve, these young men and women make meaningful contributions to society. Teams as well as individual student-athletes are involved in numerous charity and community organizations, schools and hospitals. Some student-athletes have also created, initiated and implemented service projects/activities. One specific event, Reddie to Serve, allows us just this amble opportunity to show our gratitude and appreciation back to the citizens of…

I do not agree with the reinstitution of a military draft. In 1973 the military draft was lifted in the United States and with good reason. The United States should not rely on a draft to fill military vacancies but rely on recruitment. It is true that the military offers incentives and luxuries that some civilians could not afford otherwise such as food, shelter, and medical care. However, they are just that, incentives. The military is an option and should remain that way. Many enlist for different reasons, some with economical reasons, others with strong political urges, but they enlist out of their own desires, beliefs, and more importantly, free will. Some see the military as a way of life; others see it as the only way to educate themselves in a society where education is valued so highly. With rising tuition costs, many enlist in the reserves as a guarantee for their degree. College is costly and even with the aid of tuition assistance and can leave a graduate drowning in debt. These are all choices all college bound 18-25 year olds make and some just do not have the luxury of choosing.…

As of today, the military has a volunteer service only as its profile. As stated in a Farlex dictionary a military volunteer is “a person who freely enlists for service”. Any american citizen over 18 can volunteer for any branch regardless of gender, ethic, or religion. Other than soldiers, doctors, lawyers, scientists and a wide range of other careers are recruited and used in the military. The volunteer system supports the Declaration of Independence's phrase of guaranteeing citizens the right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” by giving Americans the freedom of choice to chose to serve the country, or live about freely. The majority of America doesn't like the idea of having a draft introduced again, since it doesn’t exactly fit the phrase of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”, in all aspects of citizens trying to achieve the “American Dream”. Though the majority of citizens is…

Also, our military plays a major role in our nation. Without a military our nation would not be what it is today. Some families are military families and raise their children with the intentions or hopes of them going into the military. Whereas some families raise their children to be afraid of the military and teach them that war is a very bad thing. Other families let their children chose the military life but are behind them all the way. It used to be that women were not allowed to be a part of the military and today in some families still frown upon. Without the families that teach their children to take on the great responsibility of serving in the military our nation would cease to exist. Serving in our nation’s military is the ultimate duty.…

We Should Not Reinstate the Draft I would never have come to think that I would need the military draft to be reinstated but I think it will be beneficial to our country. It's been years since they have wanted or needed a draft, but in view of the United States being attacked on September 11, 2001, I feel our country must be prepared and prepared to defend itself. If being prepared means reinstating the draft, a compulsory summons for military service, then I think they ought to think about this a reasonable proposal. I think the tragic events of September 11 will evoke most people to agree with me. Since September 11 they have seen a surge of patriotism in this country that appeared hidden for plenty of years. I am so glad patriotism was not…

Why I serve. I have been in the agency for 20 years. For about 3 year's I have had to take care of a family member, a younger sibling. SSA has been there for me. I have been on details at another field office in another county. SSA have and has been very accommodating to my needs. I serve others with a passion. I love what I do and why I do it. For me, no other agency can compare to SSA's service's. As a TE for the SSI unit, the people is my priority and for that I come to work with a positive attitude, an understanding and compassionate heart with an open mind to adhere to the needs of…

Is this fair when we have equal opportunity for all?” this will never be a yes or no question because half agree and the other half is against it. One person said not all women are physically or mentally up for the job. As stated earlier that is a huge factor but are all men physically or mentally up for the job? No, we are stuck in the mindset that men are supposed to still protect us at the cost of their own life whenever there is a problem. That was then this is now women need to be prepared because one day they are not going to have another choice and the United States will never go down without a fight. So if it means drafting women next it will be done. Women are not too fragile we do a lot more than just chores and taking care of kids. When a man gets drafted and he has a wife and kids, the kids still lose their father the wife still loses her husband. Now switch it around a women has a husband and kids, if the women gets drafted does the husband not lose a wife and do the kids not lose their mother? No matter what if it came down to us needing to draft people into the military a mother, father, aunt, uncle, cousin, son or daughter someone will be lost. Regardless if they are male or female someone is…

throughout the world. It is estimated that there are as many if not more than 300,000 child soldiers around the world. Since 2001 and as of 2008, child soldiers have participated in 21 on-going or recent armed conflicts in almost every region of the world. Ranging from ages of 8 to 15, child soldiers are raped, abused, and sometimes even sent on suicide missions if they haven't died from the hardship put on a child in the military. 40% of child soldiers are recruited by force and many times forced to kill their family so that they don't have anything to come back to if they escape from the military. Although many countries still practice the recruiting of children, I believe stopping this practice will cause benefits to society, child soldiers lives, and quality of the protection of the country that stops this practice.…

Personally I don’t believe that the U.S. should make citizens serve in the military. I believe this because people should be able to choose what they want to do in life and what they want to study and what they want to make of themselves. Often people don’t even have the physical strength or abilities to join the military, or the mental state to serve. Yes, I know that our country needs protection but we need other things too.…

    Military Draft Essay

The draft would be a good way to divide the burden of war so it doesn’t solely affect the people who really want to aid their country. When people feel like the draft is unconstitutional, the draft doesn’t deprive them rights, rather than giving them the right to “defend their country”.(Say Registration or Draft Not Needed 1979) Many people believe that war is bad, and I can agree, but being drafted doesn’t necessarily mean going immediately to war, you could be drafted in a time of no major conflicts and assist in a safe yet vital role in the military as a doctor, nurse or something as simple as a cook to be able to prepare food for hungry troops. For those that volunteer rather than being drafted, carry all the burden on their shoulders while…

All men have to sign up for the military draft at age 18 in case it is ever brought back into practice. People went off to fight for our country at 18, away from family and friends, in foreign territory with the uncertainty of life. A person risks life and limb in war, but they can’t come home and have a drink? Going off into war has serious consequences mentally, physically, and emotionally. This is a major life event if one chooses to do so. Why should a person be able to risk their life, but not be able to buy a drink on a weekend?…
