Everlasting Vs The Vampire Diaries
Compare and Contrast Essay

The book EverLasting by Alyson Noël and the T.V show The Vampire Diaries share many similarities and differences. I focused on the characters from both texts and now they related to each other. Everlasting is about two friends who get back together after hundreds of years. Ever and Damen fight against deadly enemies to stay together. In The Vampire Diaries, two vampire brothers named Damon and Stefan try to save their town, Mystic Falls. They come across different vampires and witches but have to try to keep their citizens and friends safe. I noticed that both texts have difficult relationships in them. In The Vampire Diaries, Stefan falls in love with Elena first. However, Damon also falls in love with her beginning in season 4. This causes a conflict between Damon and Stefan because they both know that in the end, only one of them will be able to marry Elena. In Everlasting, there is a difficult relationship between Ever and Damen because they have been apart for hundreds of years. They have to fight different enemies to be able to stay together. Another similarity is that both texts have the use of magic and curses. In Everlasting, there is a curse set on Damen so he cannot come in contact with Ever’s DNA. There are witches that use magic to harm other

This is similar to Ever and Damen from Everlasting. They are on the same side and fight against the same enemies together. Also in Everlasting, majority of the enemies fight together against Ever and Damen. In The Vampire Diaries, Stefan and Damon also have similar enemies. The two brothers both want the same girl at first, but Stefan finds Caroline in season 7. This is different from Everlasting because the characters do not go after the same person. The characters also share some personality traits. Damon and Damen from both texts, are driven by mostly power. Elena and Ever are driven by mostly

31 March 2009Behind every great love is a great story.(The Notebook) The story of Romeo and Juliet and Bonnie and Clyde Barrows have demonstrated this quite well. Romeo and Juliet, were two young kids in a forbidden love due to their parents hatred towards each other. Romeo from the house of Montague and Juliet from the house of Capulet should have never met and fallen so hard for one another but one nights fun brought them to a life that would end in a tragedy. While, Bonnie and Clyde were two young law breakers, that loved one another and the thrill to kill. From the start it was trouble for the two, in and out of jail. But nothing was stopping them from being together. The relationships Romeo and Juliet and Bonnie and Clyde are similar with…

In this essay, I argue that the Game of Thrones is a present-day manifestation of a freak show due to the characters displayed in the show and explore the similarities and differences between Game of Thrones and freak shows we have studied through analyzing two characters: Tyrion Lannister, a dwarf of a noble family, and Melisandre, often referred as The Red Woman who performs magic to eradicate one of the dynasts.…

Explore how far the 'Vampire Diaries/Being Human/Misfits' DVD cover conforms to genre conventionsIn this essay, I will be analysing the DVD cover of the 'Vampire Diaries' which is a television programme in the teen-supernatural hybrid drama genre. I will also be analysing the covers of 'Being Human' and 'Misfits' and I will compare and contrast them with the 'Vampire Diaries' cover. The typical genre conventions of supernatural dramas are that there are supernatural beings such as ghosts. Werewolves and vampires, and 'ordinary' setting, a trigger/event that leads to the creation of supernatural beings. 'Ordinary' people becoming supernatural or finding out about supernatural beings, and the running theme which is good vs bad. On the front of the…

Two feuding families in the old city of Verona, and two rival gangs in New York’s West Side; what could these two scenarios possibly have in common? They both consist of a pair of star-crossed lovers and the story of their short lived love, which eventually ends in deaths. William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Arthur Laurents’ West Side Story are similar in many ways. They both have the similar theme of forbidden love and love that is expected or arranged. Although the balcony scene and the fire escape scene seem very different, these settings are also very similar and contain the same feeling of true love. There is also the symbolism of a name or the power of a name, which remains consistent in both pieces of literature. Using these three comparisons, readers can clearly see the tragedy of love hindered by fate.…

The Vampire Diaries and The Originals are very similar television shows. Created by the same producers and sharing cast members are just a few examples of the comparison between them. Although The Vampire Diaries and The Originals sometimes interconnect by having crossover episodes, a person doesn’t have to necessarily watch both shows to understand what’s happening. They are very different in many aspects as well, such as conflicts, setting, and storyline. Both shows feature werewolves, vampires, hybrids, witches, and much more.…
