Compassion: etymologically meaning ‘to suffer together.’Compassion is understanding others emotions and taking action to relieve that pain. Lending a helping hand to anyone who is dealing with hardship can change one’s views on life and illuminate their day. There are many examples of compassion around the world. An example could be Artificial Intelligence, which is intelligence that is displayed by computers and machinery. Artificial Intelligence will certainly change the lives of the disabled and help them view the world as we do every day. Being in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP) has taught me the importance of kindness around the world. Through the IB character traits, I have learned how to become an Inquirer, Open-Minded, Principled and Caring learner. I have demonstrated the act of kindness through my community project, where I will teach others about self-love and advocate to promote philanthropy. The community

A living example of this is Satya Nadella, Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft. He has taught me about empathy and compassion from a business point of view. These companies have an empathetic approach to innovation and want to help those in need using technology. Many tools and devices are already being used to assist the disabled, such as vehicles with wheelchair accessibility, font to help dyslexia and many more revolutionary inventions. Nadella talks about compassion based technology that helps people learn, practice and succeed. Advances in technology have led to discoveries such as Artificial Intelligence or Virtual Reality.
