Ethical Considerations In Violating The Social Norms
Every culture has a set standard of accepting certain behaviors; to what extent a particular behavior is acceptable in that certain society. Norms are expected ways to behave set by the majority of the society and anybody who goes against or violates these norms would be labeled as ‘abnormal’. Within this concept, an individual’s thinking and actions would only be labeled as normal if all these are within the established social norms of how a person is expected to act and the adequate behavior presented in a particular society. Violating the social norms may make them feel debilitated alternately uncomfortable. But, as social norms varies in each culture and country differently, one particular behavior in one country may be defined as ‘normal’
