Recap

From learning theories to technology tools, what do you find to be the most challenging aspect of teaching and learning with technology? What do you find to be the most beneficial?
From learning theories to technology tools the most challenging aspect of teaching and learning with technology has been the expanding rapid modern technologies themselves. Teachers are required to learn how to use these technologies in their classroom daily. While new technologies are growing the challenge has been to insure that teachers training needs are met. Communication and information technology can provide more effective and flexible hardware/software for professional development for teachers, improve pre-and in-service training and connect teachers to the global teacher community.
The most beneficial aspect of teaching and learning with technology from leaning theories to technology tools has been the integration of technology into pre-service teacher education programs from the constructivist and behaviorist perspective for the aim of improving student learning and pre-service teacher training. Technology tools allow us to better serve the diverse learning styles of our students and educate them for a wider range of intelligence. Everybody has different learning styles for meaningful learning but teachers cannot represent all the styles in a traditional classroom environment. However, with the flexibility and help of the technologies, we can design learning environments in which students are assisted in managing and constructing their own representations of knowledge in their minds.
You have read about and discussed various technologies throughout this course. What technology tool intrigues you the most, when it comes to teaching and learning? Why?
The technology tool that intrigues me the most when it comes to teaching and

Technology or to be more specific, Educational Technology increases student grades by advancing student’s learning abilities. Richey (2008) explains that Educational technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate technological processes and resources. Stratham (2012), shortly after the internet explosion of the 1990s, technology was immediately integrated into the classrooms. Technology, even though symbolizes advancement in human knowledge, was seen as a setback by many educators. Many efforts have been established to help educators realize the benefits of technology and ways of implementing them in the classroom. This advancement created a constantly expanding gap between the student’s perception on the use of technology within the learning atmosphere, and the teacher’s perception and limitations.…

Training typically has not helped teachers understand how to integrate technology into the curriculum.…

Technology is such a fast-moving target. Increasingly our focus is less about adding more devices, which we are challenged to find funds to purchase, and more about providing services that teachers and students can consume. Examples of this include pervasive wireless, a learning management system, email, and BYOD support. There is still a very valuable role for interactive whiteboards, projectors, etc., but the roles are more supportive. Those devices also tend to be more teacher focused and less learner-focused.…

The classroom tools that teachers use today are using interactive white boards, and now it is said that 40% of K-12 grades use them in their classrooms they also go by other names too -- SMART Board, ActivBoard, eBeam, Mimio, Webster -- with slightly different features are available. Portable devices also play a big part too, graphing calculators, laptops, tablets, e-readers, smart phones, and mp3 players, widely available to the general public, are also considered potentially valuable classroom resources by many teachers and the kids in their classes. Hand in hand with portable devices goes is the web-based communications and content they able us to use. The web-based communications not only help teachers and students keep in touch outside the class, but also help kids do their homework together without having to over to each other house if they live far away from each other, or if they go to an online school like we do. Web-based content ables teachers to download teaching materials, lesson plans and activities for the week or year from the internet for their classes to use. They can stream videos, games, and other things to help show their points to their classes. They can even make their own web-sites and use web-cams to give lessons to their online classes. When I become a teacher I would like to teach k-3rd grades and think that a lot of these technologies like the smart-board, tablets, e-readers and mp3 players will be very helpful to me in help my class of kids learn all the things they need in order to grow-up to be great people and go to do great things. I see myself putting all of these thing to good use by making lesson plans and slide shows to help the kids see my point, and I’ll also try my best to enlighten all the kids in all of my classes. In all I see the internet to be the hardest to use in a k-3 grades due to the fact that a lot of things on it are not kid friendly. The things that are missing from the…
