Essay: The Big Football Game
It was a dark and gloomy afternoon on the friday of October 31st. The year was 2014 and Donny was getting padded up for the big football game against the big time rivals… Mitchell. Donny was the star quarterback for the tigers weighing in at a staggering 225 and towering over people at a height of 6’5. The game start time was set for 7 sharp, right when the sun was supposed to set. Donny was standing in the tunnel leading out onto the field waiting for his team to come join him. Looking out he could see all these fans dressed in pink for breast cancer awareness. He was taking it all in, all the college scouts, all the parents, all his friends, just everyone there to watch him and his team battle it out. Usually every game feels about the same nervous but it smooths out towards the start of the game. This game was different though, something was off about this game. His teammates made a tunnel leading to the 50 yard line. The starting offense lined up at the start of the tunnel getting ready for their name to be called. Donny was waiting for everyone else to get called because Donny was always the last one to get called. Finally, it was Donny’s time. His name was called and he ran down the tunnel. Everyone joined together and broke it down. His teammates and him then went to the sideline to watch the clock tick down and stand tall and proud for the national anthem.
The national anthem started and Donny still had the feeling something wasn’t right but he just tried to ignore it. As the song came closer to the end he heard a bang, then lots of flashes almost as if a flash bang hit him. Usually teams want to leave the other team bloody but one guy decided to take it into his hands to leave both teams bloody. The clock never hit zero that
