Essay On Muscle Contraction
We have more than 600 muscles in our bodies. They pump blood throughout your body, and help you lift heavy things like backpacks, and textbooks. You could control some of your muscles, while others like your heart, have their own jobs without us thinking at all. Muscles are all made up of same material. A type of tissue like the material in a rubber band. Thousands or tens of thousands of small fibers make up all or each muscle in our body. There are different muscles, fibers, and contractions. Three different types of muscles include cardiac, smooth, and skeletal. Cardiac muscle cells are located in by the heart in the walls, look striated, and are under involuntary control. Smooth muscle fibers are located in walls of hollow organs, …show more content…
Force, and length. Isometric contraction of a muscle makes tension without changing length. An example would be found when the muscles of a hand or forearm grab an object. The joints of the hand don’t move but muscles make sufficient force to repeal the object from being dropped. However in Isotonic contraction the tension in the muscle stays the same even a change in muscle length. This can happen when a muscle’s force of contraction exceeds the total load on the muscle. A concentric contraction is when the muscle tension is sufficient to beat the oad, and the muscle becomes short as it contracts. This happens when the force made by the muscle passes the load opposing its contraction. Eccentric contraction, the tension made is insufficient to overcome. The load of the muscle and fibers lengthen as it contracts. In conclusion, all human bodies have so many muscles (600 +), that help pump blood through our body, and helps you lift things. Muscles are important to the human body because it would be impossible for you to do do daily activities. They turn energy into motion. Muscles don’t just make you look bulky, but provide many functions, and have a lot of different types like smooth muscle, skeletal muscle, etc. At the end of the day, a muscle is a muscle if it’s just a
