Massage Therapist Although many people would not consider giving people full body massages, it is a rewarding job. Massage therapists are helping people relieve physical pain they may have. Masseuses get to watch a person overcome physical pain. A masseur can travel or remain in the same area, either way you are being rewarded with helping people heal and feel better with their self. Massage therapists “treat clients by using touch to manipulate the soft tissue of the body to rehabilitate injuries by relieving pain” (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). A masseur is supposed to be able to improve overall health by using “special techniques and treatment plans for certain types of people” (Career Cruising). “A minimum of 500 hours of hands on training is required” (Career Cruising). Massage therapists need to be physically capable and have an adjustable schedule so they can work around client’s schedule. To be a successful masseuse having self-motivated and willingness to help others would greatly help someone. “After graduating from an approved program workers must get a license or certificate” (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Certifications or licenses are required to the ones who take and an exam with training and correct education. Depending on where business or independent worker is located prices and wages would vary. In 2012 the hourly average was 17.29 an hour. Independent workers average between 50 to 100 dollars an hour. For the yearly average during 2012 was 35,970 a year. It can range from 17,000 to 69,000 yearly. The more populated an area is the more clients available the more a masseuse can charge. Massage therapists need a relaxing and sanitary environment. The clients should be relaxed to fully enjoy a massage and sanitary to prevent diseases from spreading. “From 2012 to 2022 the need for massage therapists will grow by 23 percent” (U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics). “Massage therapy will have a much faster growth rate than the average of all careers through 2022” (“Massage Therapist”
