Essay on Life
To some people, life is hard, cruel and merciless. These set of people see life as punishment throughout their entire lives. They therefore resigned themselves to fate, believing all is finished. To them, nothing that they do can ever be good. They take delight in committing crimes and maiming (imperfect) others to avenge their ill-fortune. They lost every sense of direction and most times, some of them go as far as committing suicide, just to escape the injustice life has meted out to them.
But there are those who see life as a challenge, a channel of discovery and innovation, a prospect for success and a gateway to wealth. To them life is sweet, colorful and kind. No matter the situation these people find themselves, they keep pressing on, believing in a cause, a cause to succeed and get the most out of life. No wonder a quote says, “Where there is life, there is hope.”
The will to succeed or fail lies within an individual person. You can live life to the fullest with at most satisfaction and fulfillment if you determine with all your mind, body and soul to succeed. On the other hand, life can be miserable to you if you take everything for granted and wait on fate to play itself out.
Setting of goals and strategic plans that will strive no matter the odds which may move against you is one of the basic things needed to get the best out of life. These goals which must be result oriented, should be followed up consistently even if things seem blurred or unyielding at first.
Life is a challenge. And for anyone to succeed in life, he must be ready to show the stuff he is made of. He must be ready to sacrifice his time and build up his mind frame toward success. What is happening in our environment should not influence or affect us in our daily quest for success in life. Instead, we should control the happenings around us.
Life is so easy, yet many people rush and miss what they want to achieve in life. Don’t rush in life. Take one step at a time. Each step should be properly planned before being launched. Steady, balance, mark and shoot. And before you know it, the sky will become the beginning of your success.
All the great men of today, has one way or the other tasted the other side of life but they did not fear. Instead, they were renewed to redefine their goals; they ride on with faith, believing in their potentials, focusing their mind on something, knowing full well that in every black cloud there is always a silver lining.
“Life is beautiful and yet life is not a bed of roses. Though it is full of ups and downs it has many facets of blessings and successes.”
“Life is meaningless only if we allow it to be. Each of us has the power to give life meaning, to make our time and our bodies and our words into instruments of love and hope.” –Tom Head

In life, to successfully move forward I need to establish goals. “The tragedy in life is not reaching your goal, but having no goal to reach” (Leadership for Student Activities, 2005). I must have a plan of how I will achieve my goals and be able to identify when an important element of that goal is reached. Possible setbacks must be considered and purposeful schemes arranged for when the unexpected shows up. According to Deci and Ryan (1984), “Goals, whether trivial, routine, significant or life altering, are part of peoples everyday lives”.…

Wayne Cordeiro puts it “You are one attitude away from a great life” The life that we live today is because of the life we have lived yesterday, together with all the right and wrong decisions made. If we choose to live a successful future life, we ought to carefully make the right decisions now. More so, look for something to improve in ourselves. Develop what needs to be developed in us. If we all ought to increase even just 1 percent of daily improvement, we will soon find out that at the end of the year, we have become 300 percent better than the previous year.…

It is genuinely fascinating how prosperous individuals approach problems. Where others see impenetrable obstacles, they see problems to embrace and barriers to overcome. Their confidence in the face of hardship is steered by the ability to let go of the negative attitude that holds most individuals back. A research done by Martin Seligman at the University of Pennsylvania shows that success in life is driven by one key element, whether you have the belief that your failures are produced by your personal deficits beyond your control or that they are mistakes you can fix with effort. Success is not the only thing determined by your way of thinking. Seligman has found much greater rates of depression in people who attribute their failures to personal deficits. Positive thinking individuals fare better because they treat failure as a learning experience. They also believe they can do great in the future. Retaining the success mindset is not simple. There are things that specifically shatter it. These problems drag people down because they appear to be obstacles that cannot be overcome. However, this is not so for the successful ones as these problems never hold them back;…

And believe in what you are doing.” When determining the laws of life that appealed to me, this quote emerged in my mind. The current generation has the potential for great things, but in order to achieve that high of capacity, they need perseverance, direction, and self-reliance.…

Throughout life people take many paths and journeys. Whether those paths are the right ones or wrong ones, the path taken describes oneself as a human being and it explains the past and leads to the future. Some take the path often traveled, but the path less traveled leads to open opportunities and a chance to explore and discover new things. In our own lives, we strive to always pick the best option that best suit us, to enhance our lives and gain knowledge as we trek through the journey we call life. Life is like a door, but one must open the door and the step must be taken to explore one’s chosen destiny.…

Life is one of those words that can be shaped however one may please and turned into an idea suited for themselves. For example, “Life is like photography. You need the negatives to develop” (Brown). There are many metaphors used to describe life depending on whether it is an optimistic or pessimistic view. Two comparisons some may make about life are having to do with having their life course mapped out and then, to its polar opposite, going through each day without a clue. For instance, when one says “life is the clouds” they are referring to having life figured out and then thinking of it as “life is wearing a blindfold” has a different take on it expressing not knowing which choice to make next because you do not know where you are going. There are those who seem to be born with great intellect and direction knowing each and every step they are going to make and also those that have trouble figuring out the simple tasks. For people who may sometimes find themselves feeling they are stuck in a rut in life they should remember that life can be seen as steady planned out routines but can then also be viewed blindly with every step depending on how they choose to view it themselves.…

Life is a scary and thrilling rollercoaster full of ups and downs, twists, and turns, and tears and fears. Some things can make you scream with joy and pride while other things torrent upon your heart to tear you apart. Life is one of the things many people take for granted instead of living it like there is no tomorrow. Every day, every hour, every minute, and down to every second is precious; because once time rolls on, the moment is gone forever. It will only be a part of history you cannot change. While most opportunities are there every day, there are some that only come once in a lifetime.…

    Setting Personal Goals

An important distinction must be made between the potentially confining process of setting goals and objectives and the more encompassing need of having a general purpose in life. This distinction is more than a play on words. One's purpose in life has an overriding influence upon what he does with his time, energy, and resources. It can also have a profound effect upon how he relates to other people. Without this purpose life has no compass. Within the framework of such a purpose, there is an acceptable place for much spontaneity and flexibility. Indeed, without this freedom life can become stilted and sterile, and much of the potential for progressive inspiration and renewal can be thwarted. Unless the goals and objectives an individual works toward are…
