Future Award and Qualifications
Policy on RPL:
RPL is a method of assessment leading to the award of credit that considers whether a learner can demonstrate that they can meet the assessment requirements for a unit through knowledge, understanding or skills they already possess and so not need to develop through a course of learning.
Regulatory arrangements for the Qualifications and Credit Framework (Ofqual/08/3726)
RPL enables recognition of achievement from a range of activities using any valid assessment methodology. Provided that the assessment requirements of a given unit or qualification have been met, the use of RPL is acceptable for accrediting a unit, units or a whole qualification. different centres. All credits achieved through RPL are recorded by the awarding organisation in the personal learning record in exactly the same way as all other credits.
Stage 6: Appeal
If claimants wish to appeal against a decision made about their claim for credit they would need to follow the standard appeals processes that exist within learning provider organisations and awarding organisations

Learners may be suspected of plagiarism if they:
Submits work not completed by themselves (copying of another candidates work is unacceptable) Copies directly any text from any source (for example the internet, other learners work or support material supplied by the assessor)
Produces text which is very close to the original source (for example from a text book with minor adjustments to the wording)
All evidence produced by the learner must be their own work and need to sign an …show more content…
The assessor must reconsider the reasons underpinning the decision and provide clear feedback. If the assessor is upholding the original assessment decision, then the candidate must be provided with full information describing what is required to demonstrate their competence. This should be provided in writing, and relate specifically to the standards relevant to the assessment decision.
If the candidate remains unhappy with the decision, the candidate then completes an Appeals Form which will be forwarded to the internal verifier.
Stage 2
The Internal Verifier reviews all evidence and assessment records in order to consider the appeal. A decision should be made within 5 working days and the candidate and assessor must be informed orally and in writing using the appropriate section of the Appeals Form.
If the candidate is dissatisfied with the decision the appeal proceeds to stage 3.

The third and final stage involves the right of appeal to the Assessment Appeals Panel. The internal verifier should pass all records to the Centre Coordinator/Programme Manager. The Centre
