Essay On Fragile X Syndrome
Fragile X syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects a person from birth. Fragile X syndrome can differ from case to case in the severity of the disorder. Many people that suffer from Fragile X have long, narrow faces, large ears, and tend to be double jointed. Fragile X, whether you have the syndrome or not, affects the everyday lives of many. There are many things that people can do to support people with Fragile X and make it easier for individuals that suffer from this disorder to cope with it. In many cases people with the Fragile X syndrome grow into their social anxiety. At young ages it is not very apparent that a child who suffers from the Fragile X syndrome has social anxiety unless they are around people that they are not familiar with. As a person with the syndrome grows older the social anxiety becomes very noticeable even around people that they know. They seem to be uncomfortable with familiar people and it is obvious that they do not want to associate with you. This discourages many people from conversing with not only victims of Fragile X, but other disorders as well. However for anyone who has been around a person with fragile x would tell you they are some of the nicest and most enjoyable people to be around.

This causes great stress for the victims of this disorder. In many cases parents do not feel obligated to have their disabled child participate in many things that a normal child the same age would enjoy, for example T-Ball, going to birthday parties, or have friends stay the night at their home. If children with Fragile X syndrome are included in events and activities that children with no disabilities are apart of it will help them feel more involved in the community and will help them later on in life. When parents are actively involved in the child's social life from a young age it positively affects the child as they grow
