Essay On Discipleship
Living a perfect life of discipleship may be difficult, but Mary’s life provides a perfect model of discipleship for all people to follow. Discipleship can be explained as accepting, following and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. It is being open to the Holy Spirit’s guidance to be more Christlike. Mary accepted God into her life, followed the Father’s Word and the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and helped spread the Good News through the birth of Jesus Christ. Although the world was full of temptations, Mary lived a chaste life, stayed obedient to God, and spread the Good News influencing others to follow Him. It was her chastity, obedience, and way of evangelization that led her to become the perfect model of discipleship for the rest of God’s people. One aspect that makes Mary the perfect example of discipleship is her obedience to God. A disciple of Christ must obey God and listen to his will. In order to be Christlike and follow a path of perfect discipleship, one must follow the act of obedience, as it is one …show more content…
She allowed God into her life and accepted all that He asked of her. She gave the world a perfect example of obedience and modeled a perfect life of chastity to all of those that do not know how to live a chaste life. She followed the evangelical counsels of obedience and chastity bringing her closer to living like Christ. She devoted her life to God and brought Jesus Christ into the world to spread the Good News even further. Just as important as Mary’s faithfulness to the evangelical counsels and her way of evangelization, she also kept prayer in her life to keep her from being torn away from God. It is through accepting God, following him and his will, and spreading the Good News that all people can live a life of perfect discipleship just as Mary did. Instead, she sent a pillow and bed to the woman and told her husband to be kind to her. The man took his wife back into their house. Such a thing never happened in the dangerous tribes, but the love of God made a difference in their lives. Another loving action was going into Africa, because she risked her life for people she never even met.
