Bursitis and Synovitis Bursitis is the condition of the Bursa or fluid containing sac on the joints becoming inflamed. This can causes extreme or mild pain depending on the placement of the affected area, the way the joint moves, how often the joint is used and what for. The condition differs from person to person but is often solved with the same treatments. Unfortunately even with treatment Bursitis can never be cured. It is a condition a person with goes through life with. The most common areas are in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle. The job of the bursa to ease the movements or ease the friction between the tissues of the body. Bursitis itself is not at all infectious but the bursa can become infected. Many things performed everyday can lead to bursitis such as but not limited to poor posture and poor stretching and conditioning before exercising. Bursitis is more common in adults, mainly those over forty years of age. The most common symptom of bursitis is pain. The pain may build up gradually or be sudden and severe, especially if calcium deposits are present. Bursitis can be prevented if a person begins to work out because this builds a resistance to the strain of the activity but if any major pain begins do not repeat because it can cause the bursa become inflamed easily.
