Did you know about 75% of college students said cheating was necessary to get ahead in their career/education since 1999 in November students have been cheating on college tests , why not punish them for a unruly action ? It's a bad decision causing them to not learn how to study . The students will think its ok to cheat , students will not be able to know things during challenging tasks because they have cheated . I am for the consequences of students getting suspended for three reasons here i will explain . One of the most highly important reasons students should be suspended for cheating on a test is students are given a certain amount of time to be able to study to prepare for the upcoming test , the students should be taking the time to take notes in class and go home and study everyday until the test the students has the option to ask a roomate to test them on their memory . The students could also ask the teacher to help them by tutoring them after class or lunch time . it is wrong to cheat on a test , their should be a suspension processed to show them its not acceptable to cheat on a test . Another reason students should get suspended for cheating on a test is they are a higher level of education these are adults who are going to use their degree to get a job such as a doctor , surgeon and ect . Who would want someone operating on their brain organs and not know what they are doing and cause death to the patient . The students will not have any real knowledge by cheating once a real challenging situation which requires thinking they will not be able to accomplish the procedure/goal . For example imagine a doctor trying to save a patient and has a issue with not knowing what to give the patient and having to apologize and be responsible for the death . Last reason students should be punished by suspension for cheating on a test it would teach the student a lesson that it is

However, school systems today have become lenient in rules and guidelines. Students cheat due to lack of effort, external pressures, and opportunity; the effect of cheating leads to wasted opportunities, bad reputations, and kids taking the easy way out. Though cheating in high school may seem insignificant to most high school students, it is important to make students aware that cheating will not be able to help them get everywhere they want. At some point, students in our school will have to go to college or maybe even a graduate school after that. Though there is little doubt that there will still be ways to cheat, the consequences will be much greater; years of tuition down the drain, the possibility of criminal charges, and blemished record forever. By instituting more concrete disciplinary action for cheating now, students will be deterred from cheating in high school and hopefully later in life. By extending those punishments to not only the students who cheat but those who give answers and aid in cheating, students can be more involved in preventing cheating. Students would most likely not put their grades on the line just to give someone else an advantage over them and by teaching students that cheaters are taking advantage of them, school leaders can create an environment that deters cheaters from engaging in immoral and ultimately disadvantageous behavior, and that promotes thoughtful, moral…

On numerous occasions, students have reviewed specific test material and gained plenty of confidence for success, but failed with the most horrifying score of their life. On the other hand, some students may choose to cram as much as they can right before taking the test and excel. Every student has a different level of comprehension; some may learn faster than others, or be a different type of learner. Normally, students will be informed of an approaching test, this way each student know to more attentive during class time and while studying. The amount of tine that one has to prepare for an upcoming test varies. That length of time may be brief or extended. Because of the fact that every student is different, the time they may require to study effectively varies. I personally need about a week’s worth of study time to retain most of the appropriate information. Some may only need a few days. This can sometimes be a reflection of the way the material has been taught to a student.…

This makes students feel like they are playing a game rather than going to school to learn. Because of this, students consider their work less important and, seeing as their goal is to pass a test, why would it matter if they cheated on a simple homework assignment? In order to combat this problem, MCC and other colleges need to work with local high schools to develop a plan to educate students at the middle and high school level to appreciate academic integrity and understand how it affects everyone. Studies have shown that the percentage of students who admitted cheating decreases as they go up in grade. This is likely a result of them hearing over and over again the importance of academic integrity in college. If this process were to start at the high school level, students would be more educated about the issue and would be more prepared to not cheat in…

To begin, students cheat in order to get accepted to the college of their choice. As Kolker explains, students believe that, “College, more than ever, determines success.” As a high school student in 2013, one will constantly hear other students saying, “I need to get into a top college, my whole future depends on it!” and “Oh man, I didn’t do well on that test, now I am not going to get into college.” In this day and age, teenagers have a mind-set that they only attend high school in order to be accepted into a prestigious college, rather than learning and developing as a student. These students only think about what they must do in order for top colleges to choose them; thus, if cheating is the answer, they will cheat to receive the better grade. Anderman’s research discovered that, “The most impulsive cheaters cheated less often when they believed the point of the test was to help them master the material, not just get a score.” This concept is seen in an AP Calculus class of high school juniors and seniors. The teacher has a policy that quizzes are not factored into the student’s grade; however, tests are a very important factor for the student’s grade. The quizzes are designed to help the students learn, while the tests…

Maybe the student has many extracurriculars and is unable to find time to study, he feels pressured by his parents and cheats to please them, or he is just too lazy to study and cheats so he can keep his optional status. Another reason students cheat is because of the pressure to succeed. Transitioning from high school to college is hard. The workload is overwhelming and more difficult, and some students often feel helpless and are afraid they will not do well. In college, the pressure to do well is even higher than in high school. It’s even harder for the nontraditional students to start back school when not being in school for so long to get…
