History of HTML
HTML which stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. HTML is the language that powers the Web. It is a document format that structures text and data on the Internet using elements. It is the most common language used for creating standard web pages. The idea of Html was invented by Tim Berners-Lee and now its controlled by the World Wide Web Consortium, of which Tim Berners- Lee is an important person. HTML was invented in 1990 and introduced around the same year it was invented 1990-1991. There are different versions of HTML. Now we use XHTML which is higher version of HTML. HTML has had a life-span of seven years. During that time, it has evolved from a simple language with a small number of tags to a complex system of mark-up. In November 24,1995 HTML 2.0 was published. In January 1997 HTML 3.2 was published as a W3C recommendation, It was the first version developed and standardized exclusively by the W3C. And more HTML versions came after that. Some file name extensions of HTML are .html, .htm.. The internet media type is text/html. The type code is TEXT. HTML was developed by World Wide Web Consortium and WHATWG. HTML elements form the building blocks of all websites. HTML allows images and objects to be embedded and it can also be used to create interactive forms. Some HTML tags most commonly come in pairs like and .HTML defines several data types for element content, such as script data and stylesheet data, and a plethora of types for attribute values, including IDs, names, URIs, numbers, units of length, languages, media descriptors, colors, character encodings, dates and times, and so on. All of these data types are specializations of character data. HTML documents can be delivered by the same means as any other computer file. However, they are most often delivered either by HTTP from a web server or by email. HTML is a very important part of websites.
