Erpsim Game Case Study
In the ERPSim game, our team (Team G) encountered productivity problems, low company valuation, and low sales revenue. In fact, all of the challenges affected my role as a Sales Manager. Regardless of the problems, our objective is to efficiently deliver the products in response to the market demand. Our product mix is consisted of Blueberry, Mix Fruit, and Raisin Muesli, for we were concerned of raw material cost and market trend towards fruits.

During the practice game, we observed that consumes prefer and favor products that contained fruits. Not to oversee the production cost, we decided produce Blueberry and Mix Fruit Muesli that incurred high raw material cost, and balanced out the high cost by producing Raisin Muesli. Based on the

Based on our sales orders, we generated most of our profit from distribution channel 10 or grocery stores. The left chart shows the number of sales based on 1kg products, while the right chart shows 500g products. We can see clearly that in 1kg category, Mixed Fruit Muesli is having a highest sales order of 70 orders; however, those orders didn’t generated highest profit in return, according to the net value above.

The highest sales order doesn’t guarantee the highest quality sold. Since we dropped out the Raisin Muesli in the middle of the game, using Raisin Muesli to compare the products will not be as efficient. By ignoring Raisin Muesli, the 1kg and 500g of Mixed Fruit Muesli combined ranked the lowest at 304,000 quantity sold only. Comparing to the second highest quantity sold of Nut Muesli, the product of Nut Muesli is 595,620 quantity sold or 51.04% higher than Mixed Fruit

We didn’t realized how much opportunity in term of revenue we lost when we decided to keep Mixed Fruit Muesli as one of our products. However, we did make a right decision to switch out Raisin to Nut Muesli. We tried to be unique in the market by offering products that are different from our competitors, but we aren’t able to compete with all of them. I believe product mix and pricing do play a huge role to the success. Our team are dominated in gross margins % for we charged higher price than others. We first believe the higher the price, the more the revenue. However, our sales revenue could be higher and people would buy products from us if we lowered our prices. I am not able to effectively predict the market price. I tried to lowered to price as at least $0.15 above the market price, but our competitors offered lower prices. As a Sales Manager, I recommend the product mix to be changed and the price to be lowered. The product mix should be Blueberry, Nut, and Strawberry Muesli. I realized the raw material for Blueberry and Strawberry are high, but these product mix will generate higher revenue compared to now. For Blueberry, I am able to charge at least $6.30 for 1kg and $5.50 for 500g. Moreover, I acknowledge that people are giving more value to Strawberry than Blueberry Muesli. Based on the market price, I we could charge at least $6.50 for 1kg and $5.70 for 500g Strawberry

Design an integrated marketing program designed to educate consumers on the benefits of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables every day Healthy Foods Inc. should identify as precisely as possible who the main consumers will be, where they are located and how they buy their foods. When this information is added to that about the quality and price that consumers expect, the result is known as the marketing mix which is identified by the "4P's" - Product, Place, Promotion and Price. Using this information, Healthy Foods Inc. can then refine their product to meet customers' needs and develop a strategy to market their products to the particular segments that they believe will provide the greatest sales. This involves creating a product with the characteristics of flavor, size, appearance etc. required by the customers, developing a suitable and attractive package (see below), negotiating with wholesalers, retailers, distributors, and restaurant owners designing and distributing promotional materials and finally producing and supplying a uniform quality product in the amounts…

Studying of the data under analysis reveals the changes in pricing strategy over the duration of the 6 simulations. When specific reference is made to the Unit Price it can be noted that for the first 3 simulations the Unit Price for the backpack, targeted primarily towards Urban Computers, was $45. But, in the 4th and 5th rounds of sales, the Unit Price was decreased to $34. Lastly, in the 6th and final simulation of analysis the Unit Price was decreased to a final price of $28. Analysis of the Price Score KPI suggests varying target segment reaction to the Unit Price of the backpack. In the first three rounds, the Price Score was 4, indicating $45 as being an ideal price for the target segment. However, when the Unit Price was decreased to $34 in the 4th and 5th simulations, the Price Score decreased to 3, indicating that $34 was extremely too low for the target segment. This was also the case in the 6th quarter, with the Unit Price of $28 also receiving a Price Score KPI of 3. However, when the Price Score is compared against competitor scores, it is apparent that the firm’s backpack was priced consistently more accurately than competitors.…

The purpose of this paper is to provide a written report of the five part M&M project. Part one was sampling. We were to purchase 3 bags of M&M and record the color counts of each bag in an Excel spread sheet. For part two we calculated the sample proportions for each color, the mean number of candies per1.69oz bag, created a histogram for the number of candies per bag, use Excel to compute the descriptive statistics for the total number of candies per bag and summarize the information. In part three we located the 95% confidence interval for the proportion of blue, orange, green, yellow, red and brown. For part four we tested claims for percentages of each color. In the final part of the project we tested the hypothesis that the population proportions of red and brown were equal. This report will explain what was done, present the results and provide an analysis of what was found.…

The previous months have shown a decrease in sales due to the increased prices. Maria Villanueva offered some good suggestions but with our budget we very selective in our decision making process on the steps needed to increase sales volume. The prediction tool allowed me to see the relationship between the amount of cookies sold and the decisions I made. By lowering the price on Lemon Crème and the Real Mint cookies we saw an increase in sales, but that alone did not give us optimal results. In order to achieve optimal results we had to increase contribution to the distributors and increase advertising. The contribution margins for both were relatively close so I decided to maximize the potential of the Lemon Crème cookie.…

It would look at introducing 2 children’s multi-pack products to the current channel. Natureview believes that this would be beneficial because it already has a strong relationship with the leading natural food channel retailers. They believe that entering the supermarket channel may harm these relationships. Also natural food channels are growing 7 times as fast as the supermarket channels are and Natureview is developing several new products that can boost their sales in this thriving channel. The financial potential for the 2 multi-pack children’s packages are believed to grow the gross profitability of the line to 37.6%. Also the marketing and sales expenses are much lower at about $250,000. Finally, the current functions and resources of Natureview were able to create the multi-pack products without any SG&A costs. However, Natureview is not convinced that the deciding factor should be the loss of potential relationships with current natural food channels. They believe that they can manage the channel conflicts even thought they are unsure if their distribution and marketing departments could handle the demands the supermarket channel would create upon staffing and…

If someone found a way to make something better and cheaper, then it would cost less then its competitor. Consumers would want to buy that product first because of price and quality. Consumers want more for there dollar. “During the late 1970’s, the wholesale price of cocaine in the United States fell dramatically, even as its purity was rising (Levitt 108). Food Marketing. Food products often involve the general marketing approaches and techniques applied the marketing of other kinds of products and services. In food marketing, topics such as test marketing, segmentation, positioning, branding, targeting, consumer research, and market entry strategy, for example, are highly relevant. In addition, food marketing involves other kinds of challenges--such as dealing with a perishable product whose quality and availability varies as a function of current harvest conditions. The value chain--the extent to which sequential parties in the marketing channel add value to the product--is particularly important. Today, processing and new distribution options provide increasing increasing opportunities available to food marketers to provide the consumer with convenience. Markting, services, and processing added do, however, result in significantly higher costs. In the old days, for example, consumers might have baked their own bread from locally grown flour. Today, most households buy pre-manufactured bread, and it is estimated that the farmer receives only some 5% of the price paid by the consumer for the wheat.…
