Calculations and Data table
The Physics lab chair that we’ve made are based on the anthropometric data that we’ve gathered and we’ve have surveyed from the 30 respondents. For this particular chair we consider the sitting height, shoulder elbow, buttock knee, popliteal height, knee height, back width and buttock width. We calculated these data in order to design an ergonomic chair that will suit the students in their Physics lab subject. For the sitting height, based on the computation we’ve obtained the value of 78.88 for the 5th percentile and 95.36 for the 95th percentile. The shoulder elbow height, based on the computation we’ve obtained the value of 32.29 for the 5th percentile and 37.71 for the 95th percentile. For the buttock knee height, we’ve obtained the value of 49.72 for the 5th percentile and 59.53 for the 95th percentile. For popliteal height, we’ve obtained the value of 42.32 for the 5th percentile and 52.30 for 95th percentile. For the knee height, we’ve obtained the value of 50.71 for the 5th percentile and 60.32 for the 95th percentile.
For the back width we’ve obtained the value of 38.62 for the 5th percentile and 52.62 for the 95th percentile. And for the buttock width, we’ve obtained the value of 31.26 for the 5th percentile and 48.33 for the 95th percentile. This data are all based on our respondents that have taken the course of Physics
