REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

This chapter will show related literature and studies that is relevant to the research in order to conceptualize the study. Searching on the internet and reading books are the methods used by the researcher to find topics that is related to the research and to improve the study.

Related Literature foreign (2007 Article) One of the long-term goals in human-computer interaction is to utilize more intuitive and natural methods such as speech and hand gesture that a user would employ for communication. In this paper, we present a multi-modal 3D interaction mechanism, in which user can interact with a 3D model of a tourist location displayed on the kiosk screen from a one meter distance by means of gestures and voice commands without wearing any special device in a public place, with a complex and non-static background environment. The system can be used in many applications such entertainment, touring, education, museum displays, and advertising. (Source: Bismarck Tribune, The (ND), Dec 05, 2004) Vision Technology Inc. has made visits to veterans' cemeteries across the country easier with touch-screen computer technology. The Bismarck company has found a niche in the grave locator business that could grow as more graveyards become familiar with the technology. "This for us is a form of diversification, but it's a natural fit," said Brad Kramer, general manager of Vision Technology. The touch-screen technology allows people to quickly find the location of a grave, as well as a wealth of biographical information about the deceased. Kramer said the company is only one of two in the country that makes the kiosks for veterans cemeteries. "It's not something that is easy to get into," Kramer said. The Bismarck company has installed touch-screen kiosks in 11 veterans cemeteries in eight states, including one in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Vision Technology didn't get into the cemetery

The two most common methods of research that are used to do so are qualitative research and quantitative research. Qualitative research puts a greater focuses on the meaning and characteristics of a given event or set of events. Determining the type of personality that might fit a crime or string of crimes is an example of qualitative research called profiling. Quantitative research is a much less personable type of research. This kind of research collects information using science. Cross referencing a DNA sample, collecting geological information from trace evidence, and even performing ballistics studies on weapons and ammunition are all prime examples of the quantitative research…

DewataAR application uses brochures as a Marker to display Augmented Reality which is a video, 3 dimensional objects, and audio that become the advantages of this research. However, this study has the only shortcomings of using brochures as a Marker that is easily to lose if the user is messy. [4] In Augmented Reality technology, the concept of introducing images, object recognition and 3 dimensional object tracking is not a new concept and has been used primarily by markers in visual form. This visual marker has been widely used in some Augmented Reality applications in several studies. In the majority of these applications, to realize the performance of the Augmented Reality system is highly dependent on the tracking method using marker detection, pose estimation, and so forth according to the application. However, the use of this marker may result in limited interactivity restricted to a wide range of images and objects realized in the form of borders and barcodes to create markers. Therefore to realize this approach, this marker mark must be printed and also stored for future use of this application. Unlike Augmented reality technology that uses marker bases, in a markerless based augmented reality system, any part of the environment can actually be used as a target or marker, so that each coordinate position can be traced to place virtual objects in both 2D and 3D form. [5] Based on that assumption markerless augmented reality is an interesting technology to develop. Markerless Augmented has many types among others, combination with GPS, motion, face tracking and the balance of orientation with gyroscope sensor. Gyroscope is a tool to measure orientation based on the working principle of angular momentum. Gyroscopes are widely used to measure angular velocities, how fast something rotates around an axis. And most…

A national level management association having its headquarters at New Delhi, India, is headed by a retired major general, to whom four directors looking after four strategic business units (SBUs) report. The retired major general is a non-academic person and manages the show with his administrative acumen, keeping all the directors on their toes. The education director always disagrees with him, while the other directors try to appease him by always toeing his line. The other three directors always take his guidance, good or bad, under perform, and advance alibis ‘Sir, you guided us’. The responsible-minded education director often enters into conflicts with whom to correct the process and help the Association to grow. In his tenure, he could not only increase the business volumes but also contributed significantly to the bottom line, significantly reducing the cost. One such cost control area was curbing the unnecessary nationwide air travels, dubbed as marketing visits by the faculty. The chief considered that this would be counter-productive, as in the long run this would kill the business prospects of the Association. Another major cost control area was restricting the visits to nodal centres for quality check. These centres have been retained by the Association to impart class-room training for distance learning students. The education director directed that visits to the nodal centres will be only on the basis of scrutiny of their filled up information and performance record. Within a year such visits came down from 65 to 10.…

According to Sotelo, 2005, Interactive Learning, is a pedagogical approach that incorporates social networking and urban computing into course design and delivery. Interactive Learning has evolved out of the hyper-growth in the use of digital technology and virtual communication, particularly by students. Beginning around 2000, students entering institutes of higher education have expected that interactive learning will be an integral part of their education. The use of interactive technology in learning for these students is as natural as using a pencil and paper were to past generations."…
