Jamie Michaels was thrown from his motorcycle on a patch of gravel and was brought to the ER by paramedics. On examination, his right femur appeared to be fractured. X-ray studies confirmed an oblique, compound fracture which fortunately did not injure the femoral artery. However, there is a possibility of soft tissue damage in the area of the fracture. After routine blood work results showed that Mr. Michaels could tolerate surgery, he was taken to surgery for an open reduction. The fracture was secured with a plate and screws. A myorrhaphy was also necessary. The patient was taken to the recovery room in good condition.…

In 2010 a large General Social Survey (GSS) was taken with the intention of following up on earlier studies which had taken place back in 2002 and 2005. In the end the GSS revealed some shocking and extremely concerning information about the overall mental state of Canadian workers. The first piece of data revealed that 27%, or 1 out of 4 Canadians claim their lives are ‘quite a bit’ or ‘extremely’ stressful. This tells us that around 3.7 million Canadians go through most of their days constantly feeling stressed and overwhelmed. Another 46% of the population claim their days are ‘a bit stressful’, which works out to about 6.3 million people. To make matters even worse, the GSS survey then revealed that out of the ‘highly stressed’ workers 62%, or 6 out 10 of them claim it is because of their job that they are so consistently stressed out.…

It is important that maintenance of good order is kept to ensure that any crew, organization, or team is running and working smoothly without much conflict. In this situation, the evening Sergeant took heavy disciplinary actions toward Officer Smith for his behavior and sarcastic tone. Officer Smith received suspension as punishment. The Evening Sergeant 's response, in my opinion was very much appropriate but not for Officer Smith. I believe that Officer Smith 's status in the department should have also been factored into his punishment, especially since this behavior is not usual or continuous from Officer Smith. If this had been something that he had been warned about or something he 's done in the past, then it…
