When two people in love decide to be together, initially it feels like the best thing in the world. Your entire world becomes about that one person they consume your thoughts and you feel like you would do anything in your power to make that person happy. But as time goes on and you two find out more about each others personality's many things you don't know about this person begin to come out. They push you to limits no one else can and relationships can really test your emotional strength. For a relationship to work a couple needs to have strong communication and be able to compromise through the hardest times. Those two things are crucial to figuring out if the relationship will have longevity or if it will be short lived.
When a relationship begins it's probably the best time. The two people are absolutely infatuated with each other. Your significant other can do very little wrong when the relationship first begins. You feel like this person is the perfect person for you. This is called “The Honeymoon Phase”. In this part of the relationship it's easy for you to make irrational decisions in regard to your spouse because all you want to do is make them happy. Be sure to not lose yourself respect and go against your beliefs to make your spouse happy. Despite how much in love you may be with this person, that feeling doesn't last forever. But those decisions you make don't go away and can have negative effects on your life.
Eventually the relationship you believed was absolutely perfect will be put to the test. The rough patches you two go through can determine whether or not you two stay together or part ways. Even though some couples go through worse things than others it is important to not let the negative emotions you feel effect the way you love your spouse. Even though you may not be happy with your spouse always remember why you fell in love with them in the first place. For a relationship to work you two cannot dwell on

According to Robert Sternberg there are three dimensions of love, and the include passion, intimacy, and commitment. Sternberg created this triangle theory of love and based on the levels of passion, intimacy, and commitment indicates what type of relationship that person is in. First of the major components of love is passion. Passion is the motivational component of love and it reflects the attraction you have for a person. Most people associate passion with feelings of sexual desire and romance, and these feelings are also part of passion. Passion is a very strong feeling whether it is associated with feelings of love or hate. The next component of love is intimacy. Intimacy is that feeling of getting close to someone, trusting them, and sharing your innermost thoughts. This component really allows you to show the person you love who you really are and your feelings. Intimacy also allows you to explore what commonalities or interest you have with a person. Lastly is commitment and commitment is making the decision to maintain a long term relationship for the person you love. It is clear that each of these components is needed to truly love a person.…

Marriage isn’t something that normally goes wrong. It starts to go wrong once one of the spouses gets bored or unhappy with their other half. Then they try to say the marriage by reading books like, “Think Like A Man”. Then when things go sour that’s when the spouse brings other people into the equation. Adding gas to an already lite fire, it’s inevitable what comes next. The cheating, arguments, fighting, emotional break downs, and then separation if so lucky tears the love and relation apart. So marriage isn’t the best thing to do in life, however if you’re looking for the experience of a life time go on, Get Trapped.…

Some common warning signs of trouble are either partner may stop listening or cease to be emotionally present for the other. Feeling ignored, unappreciated, unwanted. Or when a couple enjoy spending time together and then usually find themselves in the company of others, spending time apart, or preferring to stay home alone. Partners may gain irresponsible or hurtful behavior, or show a lack of respect for each other. Actions that I can take to improve my interpersonal relationship are recognizing my own feelings and dealing with them, spending time with my current friends or reconnecting with old ones, not rushing into a “rebound” relationship. Self-nurturance, I need to love myself before I can love someone else, or even expect someone else to love me. Take the time to get to know myself, become more accepting of myself and be happy with whom I am. Becoming a better listener allows me to share feelings, express concerns, communicate wants and needs, and let our thoughts and opinions be…
