Element Report on Tin
Title: Tin
Abstract: My report is on the element Tin.
Properties: Tin has a melting point of 231.97 degrees Celsius and a boiling point at 2270 degrees Celsius. If Tin’s cooling point is above 13.2 degrees Celsius, the color changes from white to gray, and if it is warming above 13.2 degrees Celsius, the color changes from gray to white. Tin is known for the “tin cry.” This happens when a bar of tin is bent and the crystals get broken.
Uses: Tin is used to coat other metals to prevent corrosion. Also, Tin plates are used for tin cans. Tin salts may be sprayed onto glass to produce electrically conductive coatings, and molten tin is used for window glass.
General Information: You can find tin at the atomic number fifty and a mass of 118.7. The universal name is pentnilium. Tin comes from crystals and has been discovered since ancient times. When it was discovered and where, is unknown. Tin got its name from the old Celtic word, “tinne,” meaning, “bar of metal.” It has 5s^2P^2 of valence electrons and is the 49th most abundant element in the Earth’s crust. Tin is a type of metal and has thirty-five isotopes. For the KLTM, the price value of tin is $21,330 since 1/18/2012. The unique thing about it is, thirty-five countries mine tin.
