Electronic Cigarettes are being talked about more recently in the media; however, they have been around for over a decade. Many were unaware of the fact that, "The modern e-cigarette was created in 2003 by a Chinese chemist, but the first smokeless, non-tobacco, cigarette was invented by one Herbert A. Gilbert, who received a patent for it in 1965. A few prototypes were made, but it was never successfully marketed" (Top 5 Extraordinary E-Cigarette Facts 1:07-1:21). The name, electronic cigarette, may seem pretty obvious as to how it differs from conventional cigarettes; however, how the device actually works is another question.
