COMPONENTS 1 Wire connectors 2 Push button switch (2 units) 3 Push-off 4 Single phase motor 5 Contactors 6 Thermal overload relay

THEORY
INTRODUCTION TO D.O.L STARTER
D.O.L starter is a widely-used starting method of electric motor. there are many type of motor starter, the simplest of which is the DOL starter.
The D.O.L starter comprises a switch and an overload protection relay. The switch may be manually operated load break switch or circuit breaker, but more commonly it would be an electromagnetic contactor which can be opened by the thermal overload relay under fault conditions.
Typically, the contactor will be controlled by separate start and stop button. An auxiliary contact on the contactor is used across the start button, as hold in contact. i.e the contactor is electrically latched closed while the motor is operating.

PROCEDURE 1 Draw the wiring diagram for the D.O.L starter figure 8.2 based on schematic diagram of figure 0.1 2 Carry out the wiring for D.O.L starter as done in figure 8.2. 3 Carry out the insulation, continuity and polarity test for D.O.L starter system, and complete table 0.1 4 Energize the D.O.L starter with a single-phase 240V,50Hz supply for the circuit functionality.
THIS MUST BE DONE BY THE SUPERVISOR/TECHNICIAN IN CHARGE

RESULT Insulation test | Phase & neutral | Phase & CPC | Neutral & CPC | | 20A | 144.7MΩ | 109.7MΩ | 105.7MΩ | | 6A | 140.9MΩ | 180.0MΩ | | Continuity test | Phase

Diesel engines are started by supplying compressed air into the cylinders in the appropriate sequence for the required direction. A supply of compressed air is stored in air reservoirs or 'bottles' ready for immediate use. Up to 12 starts are possible with the stored quantity of compressed air. The starting air system usually has interlocks to prevent starting if everything is not in order.…

Get the vehicle as close to level as possible. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a floor jack. * 3 Remove the rock guard from the transmission, if equipped. * 4 Disconnect the clutch master cylinder pushrod from the clutch pedal under the dashboard: use a flat screwdriver to pry off the retainer bushing and push the rod off the shaft on the clutch pedal, near the top of the pedal where it attaches to the pedal support bracket. Retain the bushing for reuse. * 5 Disconnect the wiring connector on the starter motor. Remove the retaining bolts from the starter motor using a metric socket wrench and remove the starter. * 6 Disconnect the hydraulic coupling at the transmission using the hydraulic coupling disconnect tool. Fit the tool over the coupling at the white bushing and pull on the line while pushing the tool toward the white bushing. * 7 Remove the shift boot retainer screws with the transmission in neutral and lift the boot up the shift lever. * 8 Mark the driveshaft and rear axle companion flange on the differential using the chalk, then disconnect the driveshaft from the flange by removing the bolts with a metric socket wrench. * 9 Pull the driveshaft toward the rear of the vehicle and disconnect it from the transmission output flange, using a metric socket wrench to remove the bolts. * 10 Disconnect the speedometer cable from the transmission by turning the knurled nut by…
