How Does an Electric eel produce Electricity?
A Knifefish also known as an Electric eel is the only species in its genus which can produce electricity. The Electricity is produced within his organs three in specific (Hunters Organ, Sachs organ, and the main organ). The three organs that generate the electricity within the eel takes up 4/5 of his body, which can be a good amount since a common Electric eel can be as big as 6’7.
The Sachs organ one of the three organs that produce electricity is associated with electro location meaning the Electric eel will not depend on its vision, but more on electro location which has a wide range. They don’t necessarily use its electro location to attack it’s pray
