Eleanor Roosevelt Quote Analysis
Eleanor Roosevelt, Former First Lady of the USA, once stated, “Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you’ll be criticized any ways.” I find this quote to be so inspiring because many don’t want to voice their opinion to not contradict other people’s belief. This quote also relates to me because I am a leader and have dealt with the issue of being scrutinized for my own beliefs. When I was younger, I was a bystander of bullying because I feared to be the next victim. I never stood up to the bully nor helped the victim. However, I soon learned not voicing my opinion lead to the bully becoming stronger and victimizing more people. I realized that if no one stood up there wouldn't be no change. Ever since, I never hesitated to speak up and defend my opinion. Another example of when I was a leader was often I would go to an after-school program and watch over the kids. I would have to have the kids learn the work but entertain them at the same time. What made me a leader in these situations was that I wanted these kids to do better and learn the following information but all they wanted was to play and run around. I had to motivate and influence these kids to do what I said not because it was going to better me but for they can be better students. With patience and motivation I made sure every day that the kid wanted to learn instead of being forced. Leaders don’t only think about themselves when they have a vision but think of everyone. This is what I consider a leader; one who realizes there is an issue and is brave enough to stand up for their belief. Everyone has different opinion on what truly is a leader. This is what I believe a good leader is. There are many qualities a leader must acquire. However, good leadership goes
