Polluter Corp, has recently spent $3 million to purchase emission allowances, with a vintage year of 2012, in order to meet the need for additional EAs in the fiscal years 2010-2014. They will also need to sell EAs, with a vintage year of 2016, in order to offset the costs of the purchase. It is to my understanding that the need for EAs arose because of the significant amount of greenhouse gases emitted by the Company 's antiquated manufacturing facilities. In order to remedy this situation, plans were made to upgrade the facilities in 2014. The reduced gas emissions that the upgraded facilities are expected to provide will render EAs with vintage years beyond 2014, useless, as they would no longer be needed to meet the gas emission standards. Consequently, the Company took action as explained above.…

Right now, Polluter Corp. emits a significant amount of pollutants into the environment because of its old manufacturing equipment. They plan on upgrading the equipment in 2014, which will help decrease the amount of pollutants they emit from production. Since they don’t have the new equipment yet, Polluter predicted that they would need additional EA’s. They spent $3 million to purchase EA’s valid in 2012. However, Polluter believes that they will have more EA’s than they will need when the upgrade is complete. They later sold EA’s valid in 2016 for $2 million. The total costs for the equipment upgrades are expected to be $15 million.…

Miguel Ángel Asturias’s novel is somewhat divided in the novelty of its approach. Does El Señor Presidente have a completely new way of defining the reality of Latin American experience, or is it just a different twist in a mixture of the Indigenismo and dictator novel? Defending the argument, Asturias successfully established the earlier use of magical realism in El Señor Presidente. Through it, the narrative does show attempts to define a true Latin American experience: Asturias aspires to respect Indigenous culture and make it stand out in its own right. However, René Prieto suggests that, like prior Indigenista authors, the author overindulged and exaggerated with stock phraseology and wordplay “It seems forced and brilliant, weighed down with cumbersome platitudes and yet brimming with original passages.”…

Unnecessary: Fear of dangerous Global Warming from man-made CO2 is dissipating with more recent scientific evidence and exposure of much bias, exaggeration of dangers and neglect of benefits of warming in existing scientific consensus. Any warming from CO2 is likely to be a harmless < 1 Deg Celsius by 2100. Higher predictions are only computer model speculations, arguably due to the modeller’s confessed ignorance of natural climate cycles.…
