Educational Autobiography A lot of people think education is just something you get in school, but in reality education comes from different places and people not just school and teachers. For example, way before I started school I was already being educated by my parents, they taught me how to eat, behave, use the bathroom, talk, and a lot of other things that help out in life. I started my educational career in John F. Kennedy Elementary. I don’t really remember my years there because I only went there for Kindergarten and 1st grade. After that, I went to Sepulveda Elementary. That was a learning experience because I had to basically be on my own for a couple of days since I was the new kid in class, but going back to what my parents taught me about being nice, I made friends pretty fast. I think 3rd grade was the year where I really started realizing the importance of education. I still remember my teacher Ms. Gupta, she was really nice and a very smart person. She was the first teacher to really talk to us about college and giving us the mentality that college isn’t just an option it’s almost a must. The next two years in elementary were good but Ms. Gupta really opened my eyes to the world outside of school. After elementary school, I went to Carr Intermediate. Unlike most incoming 6th graders, I was very excited going to middle school. I still remember, before walking into the gates of Carr I went to school walking with my friend Jesus Morales because he is my neighbor. I told him “oh man middle school let’s do this!!”, he wasn’t as excited as me but we had each others back so he just went along with it. 6th grade was a good year but, 7th grade I fell behind with my grades. It wasn’t that I didn’t care but I just started going through some changes and I thought the people around me were more important than my school. One main reason for my bad grades was GIRLS! I started going through those changes

Before talking about my history, I have to say that my ancestral history is what prejudiced in my values as a good human being. From generation to generation, my ancestors passed down values such as dignity, respect, honesty and etc. Without them, I have to say that I would not exist today as a good human being. The American cities included in my history are Rocky River and Lakewood. Those two cities are located in Ohio. All my ancestors were born and lived in India. My history will include 3 generations.…

My adrenaline was rushing; my heart was beating fast as I was walking on the stage to perform at a violin recital. I was really excited and happy that got I to perform my best potential to play a musical instrument. However, at the end of the recital, my happiness and excitement were gone because most of the students either receive “The Best performance Award” or “The Most Improve Award,” but I got neither. My mother said those students were at least two years older than me, so they had more time to practice more than I did. I did not really understand what my mother meant until I read chapter one of the book, “Outliers” written by Malcom Gladwell.…

During my educational journey specifically at the high school, my goal was to be a best student in our year group. But I could not achieve it. I could not achieve it because, I thought I could do all my academical alone. I could not management my time well and also reframe myself from leadership and other peer responsibilities. With this behavior, I could not have much information about what is going around on campus and the available platforms to learn and explore more.…

I once had a crazy college professor who made us write a paper and put music to it. I wrote about how my wife was like my new kitchen trash can and played chords on my piano to enhance the words I spoke. My teacher liked it. I liked doing it. And, I think my wife still likes me after doing it too. The assignment, in both the way it was given and how I went about doing it, reflects two ways that embody my personal educational philosophy.…

As a young child, I was always aware of books and the difference between books for children and books for adults. I would not say that I grew up in a family of devout readers, but I did grow up in a family of individuals who appreciated the value of books. Although my parents never seemed to have time to simply sit and read frequently, my mother had engaged with college-level texts in her adulthood, and both of my parents saw the benefit of exposing my sister and me to books at an early age. There was always a bookshelf in my house packed full of textbooks and enormous tomes with dusty, creased spines. We also had a full set of the Encyclopedia Britannica (which I recently found out is going out of print). It would be an exaggeration to say that these books intrigued me because they represented knowledge. However, they intrigued me because although they sat there and collected dust for years, my mother refused to throw them away. It was impressed upon me very early on that books were important, and that throwing them away was wrong. I did not get it completely at that point, especially because those books were incomprehensible to a four or five year old, but I understood that it was something that would be important when I was older.…

My educational goals can be said to be broken down into three parts that are really the means to my ends which is the fourth and most important goal. First, Im working on getting good grades in every class, I want to work on having and maintaining a high competitive GPA. My second goal is to get my Bachelors in Political Science in an ideal time frame of two more years. My third goal and one that is out of my hands, one may say, is getting a scholarship. I know there is a large amount of competitive students in the school, who are well deserving of scholarships but I need this scholarship to alleviate my parents from their stress and hard work to keep up with my payments. The last and really my main goal, where my eyes are set and where I,…

My education will never be complete. This knowledge affords me the ability to grow each and every day. It teaches me to question the world and to learn from these questions. I learn through different lenses and circumstances I experience each day. At seventeen, I am nowhere near complete. I am young. I am flawed. I am naïve. What I have learned has led me down different paths in order to achieve different milestones on my own journey. I am strong. I am creative. I am poised...but most importantly I am learning. My education has allowed me to learn about myself, about others, and about the world. I am evolving through the educational process and through the effort of acquiring knowledge. I have no idea what I will learn tomorrow --some days…

Education means understanding the knowledge one has as well as the skills and material that one has learned from attending a school, college, or university. Education also means the act or process of teaching someone. Although both of these are important, if we did not have people that were more intelligent than one another, we would have no education. Throughout my life, many different educational influences have taught me skills to become successful.…

I am not saying that getting education from school is not necessary, but there is something that cannot be teach in school. In the article of Education as Lived Experience, Randy Schultz and John Hultsman, explains that education can be split into two interpretation. The first interpretation is called educational experience. This will provide people’s knowledge through discreet encounters. The second interpretation called the experience of education, which people’s knowledge will build off from experiential knowledge. So, what make a person educated is that he or she knows what is the right thing to…
