The film discussed some of the preschool choices available to Americans, based on their income levels: Montessori in NYC, Head Start, Georgia’s Universal pre-k program, and the Chicago Parent-Child Center. Chicago parent- child center is a 2 years preschool program, which started in 1967and now it has 25center. Who has attended the Chicago preschool they improve a lot in the long run, the crime rate is very low compared to head start and other program. Key to the success of Chicago is that the teacher. The teachers are highly educated, all the teachers have bachelor degree which is unlikely in head start and any other daycare. Another key to the success is the involvement of parents, parents are needed to volunteer in the class room, which helps the kids to get encouraged. ANSWER 2: I don’ think the French system of universal preschool will work in US, because it’s depends on the government funding and US is a vast country and they have to spend so much money to educate the teacher to improve the quality of the preschool program and at the same time they have to pay more salary to the teacher. In the film it shows that one family in New York they couldn’t afford to pay for a preschool so they move to Paris France where all children gets equal opportunities and they thought their child can go to a pre-school. In France all children must have to go to pre-school at the age of 3yr and it’s free. The French government pays all the prices. In France goal of the pre-school is to prepare the child at a very early age. All the preschool in France has one goal that the teachers are highly educated. All the teachers must have a master degree and the government pays for all of their education. In France the preschool teachers gets the same salary like the Elementary School.
