Education and Teacher
Philosophy of Education

The word “teacher” does the profession no service. A teacher is really a combination of the most important professions in the world. Besides the parents, an educator is the biggest influence in a child’s life. The age span in which children are in school is the most impressionable years of their lives. A student’s educational experience can mold the events of his or her future. That is why I want to become a teacher. I want to be a mold for younger generations, and I hope for students to remember a knowledgeable and ethical teacher.

Beliefs
I feel the student should come to school willing to learn and the teacher should come ready to teach! The student’s role is just as important as the teachers; the student’s expectations of the teacher should be for her to teach and help them learn at all times. Teachers also play an important role in the classroom when it comes to the environment. If the teacher prepares a warm, happy environment, students are more likely to be happy. An environment set by the teacher can be either good or bad. If students feel the teacher is angry, students may react badly to that and therefore learning can be harder. I think teachers are responsible for the social behavior in their classrooms. This behavior is primarily a reflection of the teacher's actions and the environment he/she sets.

Metaphysics We are all here for a purpose and I believe that, that is to live for God and follow his way of life. It is hard to know what you are really on earth for until you find it through him! Some teachers will find it hard to keep the focus on the classroom do to all the other outside distractions but, I strongly believe that is you were meant to be a teacher then you will find a way to look past the bad and find the good. Why am I here? I think I am here to help children follow their dreams and make it through school easier than I did. When I become a teacher I want to be the best ever! I want to see that smile on the kids’ faces after I teach them something amazing.
Progressivism
I want to teach from some aspects of the progressivism style which focuses on respect for individuality, high regard for science, and learning from experience. I want to teach the children in my classroom to have respect for each other. This is a quality that will help them to be successful in society because if they respect others, then others will have respect for them. Having respect for others also shows that they have respect for themselves. I also want children to learn by hands-on activities. I will direct them from step to step and demonstrate how to do each step in the activities they perform. These activities make learning more interesting for the children because the children are able to get involved instead of just always watching the teacher do everything. Speaking of the children getting involved, they can really get involved when learning in a different atmosphere when on field trips. I feel taking children on field trips is an effective learning experience for them because it allows children to get out of the classroom setting and learn from a different perspective. In addition I want to focus on sciences because they are an important area in the knowledge of children. I think this growing area of our society should be focused on thoroughly because science advances and improves every day and I feel children should be aware of their changing world.
Constructivism
I feel like this is the main reason why I should teach and why I want to teach, I have learned so much though school and it has molded me to become who I am today. I learn a lot through experience and what I know will make me a better teacher it will help me relate to the ones that hate school or the ones that think they can’t do it. It’s all a process and the way you take the steps is how I think you will show others so you have to help them with their process and make sure that it doesn’t go bad or in the wrong direction. I plan to continue my education so that I may make teaching my profession. After graduation, I hope to find a position in an elementary school teaching in one of the first through sixth grade classes. I feel that elementary education is extremely important because it is here that children establish their foundation for the rest of the educational career. My goal and desires are to have the opportunity to touch a child’s life.

I believe that teachers should act as a guide, allowing a child's natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and encourage respect for all people and things. We as teachers need to assist and aid a child in their learning process and help them meet their fullest potential. While our role is to guide, we provide access to a world of information and hopefully they will find the answers to all their questions instead of being the primary source of information. I do believe that students should learn to ask their peers before seeking council from teachers. It gives them a sense of accomplishment to be able to work together to find the answer.…

Teachers are by far the single most important profession field in the world. They teach students how to think, how to do math, how to write, how to read and many other important life skills. What would happen if Educators did not exist? We would turn into a country like Ethiopia, one of the top 10 least educated countries in the world. This would be the downfall of our civilization. Teachers aren’t recognized enough for the time and effort they put into their teachings of their classroom. Education is important to any nation that would want its citizens to prosper and pursue a higher stand on education. Each profession occupies a specific niche in society, doctors cure, engineers design and bankers handle our cash. Teaching, however, stands out as a more prominent entity. Teachers instill the transcendent faculties of communication, decision-making and awareness of social responsibility. No matter what field we chose to pursue later on in our lives, we again turn to teachers for training. A strong information base and best-developed capabilities of knowledge and analysis are important for progress. I want every student to leave my classroom learning something. I know that every child has the ability to learn even the smallest things. I feel that a teacher should take on roles outside the classroom as well. Sometimes a teacher is the only person a child feels they can talk to. It is important for the teacher to have a warm, welcoming, and confidence way about her so that the child is more likely to come to her if and when they have a problem. I know that I will provide that to my students. I plan to continue to grow as a teacher through experiences, reflections and guidance from others.…

George Washington Carver said, “All learning is understanding relationships”. Mrs. pearson, a second grade teacher at , understood just that. She created a comfortable, positive-learning environment where all students were learning and achieving. I know this because I was in her classroom where I learned to read, write, begin to explore numbers and create relationships. I struggled when it came to reading; but Mrs. Searson made it fun and interesting. The relationships she created with her students left them loving her as a teacher, friend and mentor. Teaching and learning are fundamentals of a school. An effective leader has a wealth of knowledge about teaching and learning. It’s their job to ensure their staff is teaching, students are achieving and relationships are being created. “Great principals make it cool to care. If you were to ask a teacher why they chose their profession, you should not be surprised to hear them say they felt called to educate the next generation. As honorable as this calling may be, it comes with great responsibility. Teachers can become overwhelmed, feeling like the weight of the world and its future rests on their shoulders. They cannot be like parents who can choose to limit their focus on investing in their own children. A teacher’s influence can be limited to their school, their classroom, and their students.…

Children learn from example, and although parents are the ones who need to teach their kids to grow up to be cordial, interactive adults; teachers also have to set a proper example. As one climbs through the steady slope that is education, the way that a student is taught plays a crucial role on how they will perceive issues and go about to solve them. Therefore, a teacher’s style of educating will immensely affect their student and there must be a fair ratio of conformity and individualism.…

Teaching is a profession that never ceases to evolve. Learning is on a continuum and educators are the ones who strive to capture the most valuable knowledge and pass it from one generation to the next. “You cannot make a difference in the lives of your students until you make a difference in your own life.” (H. Wong & R. Wong, 2004) This philosophy encompasses what it means not only to be an effective teacher but also what it means to be a successful and distinguished individual in society. These are the kind of people that you look up to and can use as a role model in life. People find comfort in an individual who cares about the future and impacting the lives of younger children for generations to come.…
