Change is always going to be hard for some. I definitely understand why change would be difficult in a health care setting. As nurses we prefer doing tasks a certain way and to change that around means modifying what we are used to. Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt (2015) state that implementing new EBP requires restructuring the flow of daily work and educated or motivated providers can have difficulty. I believe pilot testing is a great way to make small changes before EBP is implemented throughout an entire facility. This way changes can be made, questions can be asked, and it will improve the overall practice.
