The struggles of the Kurds under Turkish domination and that of the Algerians under French domination have long histories, and there are important comparisons to be made between the two. Frantz Fanon was a psychiatrist, originally from Martinique, who supported the Algerian revolution against French colonialism. In his book “The Wretched of the Earth”, Fanon argues that violence is a necessary factor in decolonization. His justification for anti-colonial violence is rationalized by his analysis of European colonial rule, which he characterizes as inherently violent itself. The French used violence to usurp Algerian land, deny Algerians full citizenship, and denounce their cultural and religious practices. Similarly, the Kurds were denied…

Genre #5: Post Card highlights the story of Billy Pilgrim's travel to the planet Tralfamadore. Like many places tourist go they often grab a 75 cent postcard to remember the places they went. Since Billy went to another planet I wanted to do something traveling related. I thought about doing a brochure or design a website but then I remembered what people do when they go vacationing, they buy something to remember the memories they had at that place. The postcard contains the aliens as well since they shaped Pilgrims view on life and time after his encounter with them. There might be a better genre to display the visit to Tralfamadore but doing a postcard sounded like a fun and creative path to take.…

For the duration of the story, O-lan proves to be not only strong but also incredibly useful. At first glance, O-lan does not resemble the prettiest of girls exteriorly, however that does not distract from her strength and usefulness or suitability to accomplish tasks that are just as important as tasks that the earth may complete. The earth again, may not always appear to be a beautiful feature but the earth almost always provides as well as proving to be strong. Such comparability between O-lan and the earth is exemplified by Lilith Saintcrow in Strange Angels, “Better to be strong than pretty and useless.”…

Because we are planetary creatures, when most people think about space colonization they usually envision homes on Mars or perhaps Earth's moon. Colonization of those bodies is in fact much less desirable than orbital colonization, even though Mars and the Moon are the only practical solid bodies suitable for colonization in the solar system, at least for the next few centuries. Venus is far too hot. Mercury experiences extreme temperatures, as the days and nights are so long. Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus have no solid surface i.e. they have a gaseous surface. Pluto is very far away. Comets and asteroids have too little gravity for a surface colony, although some have suggested that an asteroid could be hollowed out. This is…

    A Young Earth

To me, it is not surprising that scientific evidence support a young earth perspective because the Scripture which I believe is the owner’s manual of the earth proved beyond any reasonable doubt that the age of this earth is in thousands and not millions or billions years as believed by evolutionist. I commend the efforts and all the hard work of the brave team of seven creation scientists from Institute for Creation Research for their success of completing eight- year’s research project known as RATE, or Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth. According to RATE, for over a hundred years, evolutionists have insisted that the earth is billions of years old, and have arrogantly dismissed any views contrary to the belief. The results and Scientifics evidence of RATE outcome were fascinating; some of which are listed on their web site. Evolution Science evidence supporting the age of the earth changes from time to time as new development or new experiment shows up from time to time. But as for the Bible, the original manuscripts does not change it remains same forever. “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.” 1…
