In society there are leaders for examples Presidents and Prime Ministers. These leaders need to have certain characteristics, which include respect, maintaining order, and to protect the people. When these leaders start to ignore their responsibilities the society starts to get uncontrollable and mistakes will happen. For an example when leaders ignore protection and safety their actions undermine the groups ability to function, also when leaders ignore respect their actions undermine the groups ability to function. All of this happens in the story written by William Golding Lord of the Flies. All in all when leaders ignore their responsibilities their actions undermine the groups ability to function.…

A leader is a facilitator of relationships. He or she uses those relationships to bring people together for a common purpose. From the introduction of the African to America the women were taken and separated from family and sexually oppressed during slavery. Without being able to nurture and facilitate the relationships around her, they had no place in leadership. It wasn’t until centuries later did African-American women participate in something that took a group effort and leadership techniques. African American women played a key role in the Suffrage Movement. It was a social, economic and political reform movement aimed at extending the suffrage, which is the right to vote, to women, advocating equal suffrage rather than universal suffrage, which is the abolition…
From the dawn of time to the end of the world as humanity knows it, where there is sentience, there will always be leaders. In Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game, leadership is displayed by numerous characters, children, and adults, almost all of which displayed some forms of eloquence, empathy, and organization. Eloquence is needed for a leader to secure the trust and loyalty of their followers, after all, would one follow a leader they could not trust? In order to be on the cutting edge of strategy and innovation, one must be empathetic and able to understand the desires of both their peers and their enemies. To maintain leadership, a leader has to be organized, each of their decisions must be calculated, their resources should be set out in front of them for them to know all of their options at any time.…
The existence of mankind on earth relies on various factors. The basic needs for us humans to survive are food, water, shelter etc. These though, are only the physical needs of man. Humans also have social and mental needs. These needs require us humans to have law and order to be able to coexist peacefully with ourselves, nature and the environment. The only way that law and order can be achieved in human society is by a higher authority, or some form of government and/or leader. William Golding tries to touch on some of these aspects of our civilization through the various characters he creates in his novel, Lord of the Flies. Leadership plays a very important role in the novel as it does in real life for us, because the characters need to feel some sense of security in order for them to survive. The two main leaders in the story, through their similar and different leadership characteristics and objectives fight back and forth to gain the discipline of the other boys on the island. This is to generally gain the power to make the decisions that they feel should be made, sometimes for the better of the entire group, and sometimes for their own purpose. The leaders which are presented throughout the novel all have their own method of leading, and serve different purposes. The elected and democratic leader is Ralph, the self-appointed leader who tries to run a totalitarianist society is Jack Merridew, and the logical leader who tries to lead with his common sense and knowledge is Piggy. In the beginning they work towards common goals, but eventually their different views on how to lead the group lead them into conflict.…
