Early Baseball History
The history of baseball starts in the 18th century. They thought the game of baseball came from a British game called rounders says Henry Chadwick. But baseball executive Albert Spalding disagreed with that theory. Spalding exclaimed that baseball was an American sport and began on American soil. The men got into a fight over which theory was true. They decided that Abner Doubleday invented the game of baseball.
The rules of baseball originated from the Knickerbocker club rules. Their original rules started out as to get come one out you would peg them as hard as you could in the face and/or body. They had about nine-man teams with nine-inning games having their bases 90 feet apart.

After the civil war ended, in 1871 to 1875 the National Association of Professional Baseball Players (NAPBBP), or simpler known as the National Association (NA), was created in 1871 and continued through the 1875 season. That was considered as the first Major Leagues.
William Hulbert’s National League was the first ever to make clubs more important than their players. So he made the players sign a contract to play baseball for one club and that club only. This prevented players to not jump to a higher paying club until their contract …show more content…
2) The object of each team is to score more runs then the opposing team. The team with more runs than the other team by the end of the game wins that game.
3) To make a run you need to either hit the baseball with your bat and run to first, second, third, and home or get walked. The way you get walked is if either the pitcher hits you with the baseball or he throws 4 balls before he throws 3 strikes.
4) Innings are played when one team tries to score a run and the other teams tries to get them out. The way the other teams get the players out before they get a run by simply tagging them with the ball in their glove or by passing the ball to the base the player is running to before the player gets to that base. The opposing teams needs to make three runs to be able to switch. Let’s say the Red Socks and the Cardinals are playing a game against each other. If the Red socks are up to bat and Cardinals win three outs then they switch off positions. That means that then the Cardinals are now up to bat and the Red Socks are trying to get the Cardinals out. Once both teams have batted once then that means one inning has gone
