E-Cigarettes Informative Speech
E-Cigarettes E-cigarettes are everywhere. They are being sold in grocery stores, gas stations, and even in pharmacies. E-cigarettes are not legal in all states, but they are legal in the state of Colorado. The American Lung Association does not really know what they are capable of doing to the body yet, but they are concerned about how they will affect the youth that uses them. People say they can help someone stop smoking, but that is not true because you are just smoking something else. You see commercials about E-cigarettes that say they are good for you, don’t listen they are lying to you.
What are E-cigarettes? People ask this question a lot. Some people say e-cigarettes are a cigarette that helps people stop smoking, other people say they are a cigarette that is not any good for you and they will kill you. Middle school and high school use of an e-cigarette has tripled in one year according to the CDC. It increased from 4.5% to 13.4% between 2013 and 2014, and that was just high school students. The middle school students were 1.1% in 2013 and to grew to be 3.9% in 2014. The tobacco company’s target kids by advertising bubble-gum flavor and gummy bear flavor in e-cigarette. Kids can also buy e-cigarettes online. FDA oversight is needed to protect the kids from becoming the next generation hooked on nicotine.
Do E-cigarettes Help You Stop Smoking? The majority of the e-cigarette’s companies advertise that their product can help you stop smoking. “The FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research has not found and has not approved that they can help you stop smoking”. They also said it is “not a safe or effective method to use”. Most of the e-cigarette users don’t quit they just get worse and they still use their normal cigarettes. “Seventy–eight percent of e-cigarettes users still smoked their conventional cigarettes in 2013”.
